  1. Geezzzz, that's pretty serious, guess it comes with the hobby.
  2. You would need a front loader to get that out of the woods. I would never shot anything that big, as I don't have the resources to drag it out.
  3. Bow hunters can't carry guns, so they let the deer bleed out for 4 hours before pushing them further....... that doesn't sound so human. But gun hunters try to do it humanly. Another reason I don't bow hunt.
  4. Ins't it kinda warm out to let them sit there???
  5. Westchester. all 2 acre parcels over run with deer. once it runs more than 200', your tresspassing to recover it.
  6. WOW, I was all thanksgiving morning, and didn't see a thing. not a squirrel, rabbit, NOTHING.
  7. Technically... he's a POACHER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. IMO too warm. I didn't even go last weekend. (yesterday and the day before) 65 degrees today, I'm going out this weekend, as the weather will finally be below 50.
  9. I personally saw 3 guys walk into the woods at 6:30 am, state land, 2 hours later, they dragged out a family of does. little baby, medium size, and mama. What that leaves for the future of this state park?????? I don't know, but I should find another place to hunt.
  10. yep, I decided to take a week off and wait until the weather cools off. 60 degrees is crazy for thanksgiving weekend !!
  11. What's a shirt tail? I'm surprised you saw anything moving at 60 degrees, were they pusched?
  12. All on tax payer dollar . The park I hunt at, they don't let you take bear or yotes, or anything except deer.

60 degrees today, and your seeing movement? I didn't even bother going out !
  14. What did you call him in with ? I've been trying the lost fawn bleet, and it doesn't work too well.
  15. I have a doe permit that I probably won't use, but I get 1/2 the meat

Catskills, yesterday, I did not see 1 scrape or rub. nothing. last year I didn't see any till december. It's just too warm.
  17. The state park doesn't allow ATV's. I brought the cabellas game cart, but it's still in the box. I'll put it together if I get lucky. I also brought a pulley, and 100 feet of rope. I can walk down hill with the head tied to the rope going up hill. and drag it uphill like that.
  18. I said this many times. Orange or full camo, a human being does NOT resemble a deer, any way shape or form. I've seen deer walking 200 yards away, it's a deer. I've seen man in full camo walking 200 yards away through thick cover. it's a man, no question about it. Your looking through a 3x+ scope, please don't tell me you thought it was a deer.

    The Drag

I've been hunting at the top of a hill. It's a mild grade, but an incline never the less. In fact I'm winded when I'm walking out at the end of the day. Should I get lucky, I have no idea how I am dragging anything up this hill. I am by myself, and I have to be honest with myself. How am I gonna get this deer out. It's a good 1/4-1/2 mile up hill, and then another 1/2 mile of flat trail to get out. And that is if the deer doesn't run futher down the hill. I'm not 20 yo any more. I'm over 50, and don't know what I would do with a big buck, or even a big doe at the bottom of an incline. How do you get them out??? Hack saw the deer in 2, and make 2 trips ??
  20. That looks like a HEAVY drag.
  21. That takes big B@lls. Your robbing someones truck, and you know the owner is armed and danergous. Set up a tree stand close to the road, and just watch.
  22. Note to self: Unload rifle after bambi dies. This would certainly be a change for 99% of us. or at least take 1 out of the chamber, and leave 1 in the mag for coyotes.
  23. I'd say if you make a mistake, you have a very pissed off farmer.
