  1. 3J is easy, but has AR. So don't be carrying out spikes. I havn't seen anything in 3J for years.
  2. 25 feet! do you realize that's taller than a 2 story building with 10 foot ceilings. there is no way your getting a double lung shot at 25 feet. maybe 1 lung and and exit wound, and now your carrying a 30 rope to drag up your bow. take a tape measure, I'd bet your not up 25 feet.
  3. I'm serious, do you need to be higher than the sight line of the animal ? Deer will not typically look up. If they look up, they are at the base of the tree looking up for something to munch on. But I don't think they look up in general.
  4. I cooked V. RIBs last month, they were NASTY. Beyond NASTY. I wouldn't even feed them to my dog.
  5. Because you can not take a bear from a group of bears, the population will continue to expand. I'd venture to say it's dangerous to try to take a cub from the mother, as she will guard the dead body for a long time, and if you take the mother, all the cubs will die.
  6. Did you get a road kill tag?
  7. How much snow is up there ?
  8. I never understood how a slug doesn't leave a blood trail. It's 1" in diameter.
  9. I just took the bow hunter ed class. Not one mention of a cross bow.
  10. all these morons should be locked up for murder. there is no mistaking a deer with 4 legs for a guy walking around, even if in full camo. then your aiming through a scope, WTF !!!!!
  11. What's interesting, you can NOT shoot a bear from a group. Only solo bears make be taken. So they don't want to decimate the bear population, just keep it in check.
  12. All you doe wackers are probably the ones who complain there are no deer left to shoot.
  13. Fawns don't know how to handle the winter, or survive on their own. They get totally lost, as they just follow the mother around usually, and don't fend for themselves. Now all the sudden, they need to think for themselves, fend for themselves, etc, etc. they usually don't last too long without mama.
  14. put it in a bucket doe urine. then let it air dry. problem solved.

    Pound Ridge

I just got land owner permission to hunt Pound Ridge. Private property. I could hunt off the guys deck. It's 10 feet high. This person says I can take beautiful bucks from his deck. The neighbors house may be within 500', Which I can probably get the neighbor to agree. It is a residental area, and every house is only so many acres. So if the deers runs and beds, I'd likely be on someones elses property, which may pose another problem. Are there any other rules for Pound Ridge besides my thoughts above. ?
  16. Never ! The fawn won't survive a harsh winter or the coyotes. They became lunch for a coyote real soon. especially with all the blet blet going on.
  17. I wasted my money on that stuff. total waste.
  18. Can I cross bow hunt if I go for the regular bow class, or do you need a special cross bow class ?
  19. I spend alot of time in VT, way deep in snowmobiling country, and have only seen 1 moose over a 10 year span. We consider sightings very rare. This is by Stratton and Manchester area. I'd say you had an excellent guide.
  20. I'm not forturnate enough to own property to mount cameras. What times are deer most active in NOV? Morning, Night ? Or does it depend on other factors ?
  21. Is he always active at night, or in the day time too ?
  22. I heard it's not too good. have to turn the whole bear into sausage, which is why I don't take one. Especially the bear over bait in maine or canada, eating greasy oil.
  23. Last year I didn't see any until the last weekend in NOV.
