Looking for something long term with freedom to hunt the land as if it were my own, 75 acres or more would be nice . . Really want to be able to hang tree stands, cut trails, and plant food crops. . .please pm me if you have anything or know of anything. .. I live in mo Montgomery county, (Fonda) but am willing to travel an or or so for something.

Has anyone tried wing and buck?? I found a property that I'm going to look at next week.. the whole process just seems really.sketchy tho . .

I have family out in Delmar.. but no one has enough huxtable property .. I really need to get out that way

Finally got a nice shot on a buck on sunday night and I misjudged the distance. it seems like when he ran off he didnt see me and had no idea what happened.. will he give me another chance?? Also.. I rattled him in. . Do u think I could rattle him in again, or will he most likely avoid the clash of antlers now?

Football never trumps hunting, I dont care how big of a game! I have yet to have daytime pics of bucks by my stands.you blew it bud!! I hope he gives u a second chance!

Just had to really nice bucks show up on cam but no daylight. . . Hoping that changes soon

So I'm very seriously looking into leasing land, and doing some research I found this group called base camp leasing. Has anyone ever done business with them? Know anything about them? They seem to have some good deals

Last month, my father in law was selling some gun raffles for the pleasantdale rod and gun club, and for 25 bucks I said ahh what the hell, I'll take one, forgot all about it. This morning I got a call saying I had won a marlin 45-70! It looks like a really sweet gun, cant wait to get my hands on it!

I posted a similar post in the deer hunting section. . I took tuesday and friday off and was just wondering if I should skip tuesday all together.. but u know what.. I've gotten deer on cam in all kinds of weather. . .so eff it.. I'd rather be in the woods than at home watching tv.. and my boss wont let me switch days this late.. so I'm going both days!

the temperature for the 1st is supposed to be 81! Ugh.. is it even worth hunting? I will say.. the spot I'm hunting is near a water source.

Same here, very little pics over the last two weeks, one spot is a lone apple tree on the edge of a farm field.. they hit it hard daily, but the apples are running thin and not many pics, other spot is mixed area, field and hardwoods and completely stopped dead for the last two weeks. . . Had deer there almost every day I suspect action will pick back up soon

Bow hunting I pretty much hunt alone 100% of the time, during gun season I usually always have someone with me

Do u put cameras in state land? Also what kind of stands? I would fear getting my property stolen

UPDATE: I have 2 pending requests with two friends of mine, was talking to a long time friend and she said shed gladly let me hunt her 2.5 acres, though its not much, it butts up to her neighbors 175 acres,, and she doesn't see why they wouldn't have an issue with me hunting there. I also play softball in a beer league, and have a friend on the team who owns 125 acres but they don't really hunt it because he thinks the amish have killed everything... im like listen, 125 acres, im sure theres a few good bucks on there... so anyways, he has to check with his aunt and uncle that co-owns the land, and that land is literally right down the road from my new house, so this could be magical... time will tell... hope to find out soon!.

Just bought a new house, the first piece of mail I received at my new address was my lifetime license. Put it in my center console of my.truck, where I wint lose them this time!

I plan on trying this.. the offer has been on the table for a month now and my aunt and uncle just decided they were going to accept it, so I've literally been going through my mind trying to decide what I'm gonna say, and how I'm going to say it. Honest question.. should I write them a letter? I think no because it gives them an easier way to not answer me by just ignoring the letter. I also am not sure how I'm gunna get the new land owners info.. I might legit have to camp out, outside the property til he shows up.. lol. They are doing lease to by, and from what I know.. his goal is to make a hobby farm out of it, so he wont be there all the time.. .

So last year I was super excited that my uncle finally let me hunt his 107 acre farm.. it was all mine.. I took last year to really learn the land and I had a game plan to take a really nice buck that I knew was gonna be in there.. and then he sold the land! And again I have no where to hunt:( I'm going to ask the new land owner for permission, but its certainly not a guarantee and it looks like theq3wy wont close til late september at the earliest.. leaving me zero time to put cameras out and scout.. as they have asked me to remove my stands and cameras from the land for now... I'm absolutely devastated and stuck with no land to hunt again:(. I guess it's time to start saving my pennies and just purchase my own plot 20 years from now.

So when do you guys start your pre season scouting, setting out cameras etc.?? In the previous years I've always set.my.cams.out on July 4th weekend, but that's a long time, and I've learned all you are doing at that point is maybe inventory and not much more. However, since I do like to see them grow a bit, I am thinking I want to have them out by august 1.. or at least that first weekend of august. Honestly was gunna go this weekend but I would rather not go out in this intense heat.
