You owe it to the animal for a quick , ethical humane kill . Not sure if head shots fall into that category. Why not wait it out for a better shot ?

WesternNy.........when you get a coyote , what's gonna be your dispatch method ? I use .22 shorts ( pistol ).

If you decide to use call lure , I would suggest not using anything to loud unless it gets cold where you are . Hope you get a nice coyote or two.

Don't sweat it edbone . Maybe someday I'll try for a black rat and complete the slam for muskrats (lol). In fact , I do know of a marsh along the Hudson River that has black rats , but unfortunately I sold most of my rat traps years ago .
