  1. Up in the ADK i'm not sure of the names of the creeks, but there in the west Canada lakes area.I stumbled on them turkey hunting a few years ago.One place i'd like to try is in a town called ohio off of rt.8 I stopped there to look around it was beautiful.

Your right about the hoppers I bought them because I thought they looked cool, same thing with the muddler minnow I just liked the name.Unfortunately there's no fly shops here on long island and the way the mails been lately I won't get them in time.I'm going to call the shop up by me and see if they"ll hook me up with those flies you mentioned. Thanks again for the help.

  7. How do you know when to use a dry or wet fly? I have the first 11 days off for the turkey opener and want to give fly fishing another shot in the afternoon. Also what do you look for in the stream/creek that makes you stop and cast?
  8. “Dinsdale” could most likely answer that question. Maybe PM him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. They seem to be more common these days.
  10. I use a 12ga. it's like "lawdwaz" said one shot if you wait for it.I've never had an issue with the weight of any gun. There's a few guys over at old gobbler that use a 410 ga. shotgun.
  11. The problem with this is a downstate guy like my buddy Rich last week goes upstate hits every other rest to use the bathroom then stops at Hannaford to grocery shop hits the gas station to fuel up and use the bathroom. After a day in the house he decided to go to Walmart and do some shopping. Now times that by 100 or a thousand and there's the problem.Anyone that goes up and down on the weekend know how the traffic get on Sunday afternoon.People are to sloppy to get it right.
  12. This is how Dr.Birx explain the idea of the mask when a reporter ask her..
  13. Looking forward to a full review of that new ride. Pros and cons with pics.

  15. The first thing I do with a new set of Rcbs dies is take the cheesy lock rings off and replace them with hornaday rings. I just got dies for my .35 rem. Might have to give theses a shot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  17. This is why I voted for him.To boost the economy and clean house. In the beginning of this pandemic he made it clear it wasn't his area of expertise. That's why he setup the task force. I'm pretty confident when this virus is under control this country will bounce right back to where we where. AMERICA THE GREAT!!!!!
  18. Oh man talk about crowed places.lol I haven't been there in years is the beach 4x4 open ? last time I was down at the inlet two guys where fighting over a rock lol. There's a town ramp at the end of my block its still open. My block is like a boat show on the weekend.
  19. Ya know that would probably be BKhunters best bet to hook up with you for a hunt.My brother went on a guided duck hunt out in Shinnecock he had the time of his life and still talks about it.
  20. That's ridiculous!!! I didn't even realize it striped bass opened yesterday.I wouldn't be surprised if they close all the beaches and inlets when the spring bluefish roll in.
  21. Yes I've been hunting long island for 30+ years.I gave it up a few years ago and bought a place up in the ADK's.There's some great deer running around on this island. Check out my back yard buddy
  22. I guess i'll fish from land.Whats the most they can do ask me to leave, but thank god they didn't shut down the bicycle repair shops!!!!
  23. Good point I forgot about those parks. I was commenting on this "Any parking spot north of the LIE you need to check in at a station to get a reservation? This is for any public land listed on the DEC website" I was looking around on the DEC website and see they opened up a few more areas out here,it's good to see.
  24. All I could find on the DEC website was very little info it said "To limit the community spread of COVID-19, use of all DEC-owned boat launches is temporarily suspended for recreational boaters" Would private boat ramps still be open?
