  1. I'm a fan of orange too. I like watches with simply faces and I don't like wearing expensive watches where I'll be constantly worried about dings and scratches.
  2. Get well soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. This was me last Saturday. I was parked in a shopping mall and me and my son were asleep in the car while I wife exchanged some stuff. Afterwards, we drove off and less than half a mile later, I could tell the car was tilted and within seconds, I hear the flub, flub, flub sound and knew I had a flat. For the air to escape that quickly it had to be a blow out but I didn't feel anything. I put the donut in and went about my errands. That night, I didn't have time to work on the tire so my dad said he'll check it out for me. He called me afterwards and said there was a 1 and half to 2 inch fine cut on the side of the tire as if someone had stabbed it with a knife. New tire wouldn't be in till Tuesday. Had plans to hunt that Sunday but ended up staying home. Wasn't going to drive all the way out there and then off road on a donut.
  4. Just curious. So if you make a bad shot and injure a deer is it your fault or was it Jesus who wanted the deer to suffer?

    Improvisation

I learn against a tree or I kneel and rest my elbow on my knee.
  6. I don't really smile either. Most pictures are always right after the kill. It is both a joyous moment and a sad moment. The sadness fades away rather quickly and after that, I'm the little kid on a Christmas morning but usually the pictures have all been taken by then.
  7. Well, one person did use the "why don't you just buy your meat at a supermarket" comment which never fails to always appear at least once. In other news outlets, they did a better job at covering the details. They mentioned that they did try their best to get the deer to a vet but once Animal Control Officer determined that the deer wasn't going to survive he put it out of it's misery. As you would figure, the comments were a lot different but much less entertaining.
  8. People who do no scouting of their own and constantly ask you where you've seen deer.
  9. Your deer camp looks better than a lot of peoples main residences.

I actually find it rather difficult to hunt pedestrians with only a walk trail. I prefer using a rifle.
  11. Its weird because in my area they're hitting them in spots. Tons of acorns in one location. You walk a further, all the acorns are gone. Walk a little more, tons of acorns again.
  12. Technically in the comic series, Glen dies around this time but not by zombies. He gets his head bashed in with a baseball bat by some bad guy and Rick had to cut off his hand a long time ago but I guess it was too much work for them to CGI actor Andrew Lincoln missing a hand. Then again, they don't actually follow the book word for word anyway. i.e., Daryl and Morgan's character doesn't exists in the book and Carol committed suicide by zombie back in the prison.
  13. The last couple of years I've found this patch of acorn trees that the deer has been hitting up and would get good sightings when I'm posted there. This year the deer have largely left it alone and the ground is littered with acorns. The acorns have been left on the ground for so long that they're started to sprout. Out of curiosity, I took a couple home and put it in a flower pot just to see what would happen. After a few days I noticed the sprouts starting to die so I decided to cut into one of them to see what the nut looked like. When I split it in half, there was a single larva inside wiggling around and fell out. I picked it up and flushed it down the toilet. I checked the flower pot again and there was another one crawling around in the dirt. Picked that one up too and flushed it. Forgot to take a picture of it. So I do some research and I believe these are acorn weevil larvae. I also read that once hatched, the burrow into the ground and lay dormant for 3 whole years before emerging as an adult weevil. I guess what I'm seeing is the 3rd year of this cycle and the last two years, they've been dormant. My question is, is it possible that the acorn weevil is why the deer hasn't been hitting the acorns like they have the last two years I've been hunting this spot? Is it possible the deer can smell the weevil larva and avoid it?
  14. Another curious fact I heard from a fan this morning is that almost any major character, so far, that's been offed appeared the same night on "Talking Dead" to talk about their run in the show but last night, Steve Yeun was not on the show. I guess we shall see.
  15. That's the theory that is floating around on the internet right now. That Nicholas fell on top of him and it was his guts being torn. This covered Glenn in blood and camouflages his scent while he rolls under the dumpster.
  16. ^This. I am not sure why he is still employed. When he ran the Jets, there were filled with a bunch of dysfunctional characters. Now that he's gone, the Jets are playing like a real team.
  17. I would contact DEC and let them remove it. They usually hold on to it for a little while which give the owner a point of contact if they notice it is missing and wants it back. This way your hands stays clean and don't have to deal with it.
  18. http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/hunter-kills-2-moose-realizing-firing-zoo-article-1.2404190 When you're hunting near a zoo and have to go under a fence...you should figure something is not right.
  19. Yeah, its another reason I was thrown off. I never hunt for mushrooms before but I stumbled upon this and noticed that it look some what similar to some of the pictures I've seen here but not quite exactly the same so that's why I left it alone. I guess I'm going to go back there this weekend and harvest it. I'm suppose to leave the root/stem right?
  20. Going as a pirate for Halloween? Aarrgghhh!!
  21. My hearing is fine normally but I do agree, when it's cold and the hood is on and ear are covered, I worry I might miss something. I try to go as long as I can without my ears covered. I also worry that the hood covers some of my peripheral vision.
  22. My mug has been plastered all over this forum several times.
