It would be awesome if I can just step out my backdoor, walk a few hundred yards, and start hunting. But there are still so many things the city does offer that I enjoy so even if I were to move out of the city, I still wouldn't move very far. For one, all my friends and family are all here. I guess that is why I label myself passionate and not obsessed. There are things in my life I wouldn't give up just to hunt more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I picked passionate. It is one of my top hobbies but it is not a priority for me. I certainly don't put it above friends and family. I am very lucky that I have a wife who understands my passion for hunting and lets me go whenever I can but if an event comes up in which I have to attend (her sisters birthday party, etc.) then keeping my wife happy is more important than an extra day of hunting.

Zzz-quil helps a little bit of you can't fall asleep. They say it's safe but I wouldn't use it too often. I have used it before when I'm having a lot of trouble sleep and have an important day the next day. Melatonin is good but it's more to help you if you keep having interrupted sleep. I keep tinkering with the idea of switching over to a thumb release but last two years in a roll, I forget to buy one and by the time the season nears, I figure I wouldn't have enough time to practice with it and pass up on getting one. Most hunting gear/clothes have back tag loops designed into them so you don't have to poke any holes. I keep it on my backpack as well so it's always on me regardless of which jacket I wear. My backpack has loops as well. Pic#1 = back of my jacket. Pic#2 = back pack.

Welcome to NY and the forum. Bunch of Westchester hunters here, myself included. Would have been easier if it was earlier in the season because most of us are trying to cram in some last minute prep work before the season. At least I am. Maybe I'm just a procrastinator.

Does you buddy like to shoot deer 800+ yards out or something? Most deer taken in the Northeast are taken at less than 100 yards to arc never comes into consideration.
