Reminton 700 and Model 7 recall for trigger issues
Elmo replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
My fear is that everyone is now going to jump on the aftermarket triggers and they'll be backorder for a while as well. -
I go to the Blue Mountain 3D course at least a couple of times before September rolls around. It's never planned this early though. Summer is long. It's usually spurt of the moment visits.

Someone's picture is in fact their property.

During warm ups and practice, I see basketball players taking and hitting half court shots all the time. I wonder why the players never take those kinds of shots during the actual game? Unless it's a lucky desperation heave. Then it gets put on youtube like it's done all the time.

Reminton 700 and Model 7 recall for trigger issues

I submitted my back on Thursday. It's only a couple of business days so I'm still waiting for the box. -
In my honest opinion, those who hunt has to enjoy hunting. Especially for those of us who aren't fortunate to have hunting grounds right outside our backyard. If you're hunting purely for meat but don't care for everything else about hunting then you're going to find that hunting is not for you. When start from scratch, the initial startup cost (equipment, license fees, gas) and time commitment (to learn the craft and scout) is not small. Purely from a financial stand point, it takes a while before you can have a return on your investment. Most of us who make the long trek out of the city to hunt do so because we love hunting. The meat we take home is only a bonus.

Only reason one would be concerned is if one has something to hide.

Pledging nickname given to me when I was a pledge for a fraternity in college. I bought the Tickle Me Elmo doll for my nieces as a Christmas gift and the bros saw it. Since it's a real name, it stuck ever since. The title/subname is from Star Wars. I still consider myself a hunter in training. A Padawan is a title given to a Jedi in their last stage of training before granted a Knight by a Jedi Master. I just thought it was funny and cool. Strangely, I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan. I don't know what goal I'll set for myself before I change the title to Jedi Knight. Maybe after my first bow kill but then again, I did let a few walk away this last bow season.

So my sleep paralysis story. I was in college at the time and fell asleep with the night light on. I woke up but couldn't move. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a shadow by the door. I couldn't turn my head to it so the whole time I was watching it from the corner of my eye. The shadow was hunched over like it was trying to tip-toe from one side of the room to the other but immediately was startled when I had opened my eyes and noticed it. It then slowly stood up and turn towards me. Then it floated towards me and was reaching out it arm. The whole time I was trying to yell all kinds of profanity at it but the only sounds I was making was the sound some one would make if they're grasping for air. Finally, the shadow tapped my shoulder and started to giggle. The moment it tapped my shoulder, I regained control of my body and jump up and yelled, "WTF!?!" but the shadow was gone. Never having had sleep paralysis before but having heard about it, I realized what it was and went back to sleep.

I've had sleep paralysis a couple of times. Not a fun experience but it is an explained phenomenon so I guess that makes it: A. Not as scary since I'm a believer of science and. B. Not relevant to your post.

While that is true, when you have a good that is too much recoil for the shooter to handle, they don't practice at the range as much and often don't even sight it in properly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Tom King's statements. Thoughts?
Elmo replied to virgil's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don't know what's worst then. Being a hypocrite for being a leader of a major gun advocacy group and then not supporting a major pro-gun rally or Being a hypocrite for saying you're not going to a major pro-gun rally and then actually going. -
New to this site but have been hunting NY for 35 years

Tom King's statements. Thoughts?
Elmo replied to virgil's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I don't agree with King's decision to skip the rally but understand where he is coming from as far as trying to win over those in the middle. You won't do it with threats and chest pounding. I see it on this forum all the time. The "you're either with us or against us" attitude. Instead of adopting a "I see you're undecided. Well let me explain calmly" attitude. When you have 40% pro gun, 40% anti-gun, and 20% undecided. You then tell the undecided "if you're not pro-gun then screw you!" while the anti's tell them "come join us and we will accept you with open arms" don't be surprised that it'll eventually be 40% to 60%. -
Nice. I remember I had the original Big Wheels.
