  1. That's awesome news, Biz! Congratulations!
  2. Yesterday (Sunday) I shot three sets of five at 30 yds. This is the first shot of the day. I also increased the draw weight but not having a scale, I do not know what poundage I am set at. I will be shooting again at lunchtime today if the rain holds off. Second shot.. not so good. As Jeremy said, I have to keep shooting and my groups will tighten up. I still notice my left arm is a little shaky but nothing like last year. I won't make it this week to the academy.. the GF and I are going to spend the whole day at the fair She wants to shoot the bow with me this evening
  3. Wow! That's awesome! Thanks Moho !
  4. Same here! I want a doe with the bow early to take off the pressure. I have a few new places to hunt this year that are closer to work, so I can get out right from work and increase my time in the woods. Last year was a sucky bow season for me... only one possible shot but never wound up drawing on her. This year is gonna be my bow year!
  5. Shot 10 arrows after work last night... one pic is first shot (happy with that, would have been a dead deer) and the other is the rest of the first group. Not where I want to be yet but getting better!
  6. Loose fingers, Jeremy. Everything was feeling natural. I took maybe 10 shots at 30 yds also and grouped decently... not great yet but much better. I put a little weight back on and I feel I have more upper body strength. Things felt good! Ill be shooting for a while after work today.
  7. I should be on track for next week... I can't wait! Ill have more practice under my belt before then also.... Get the antlers out!
  8. Sorry I missed last evening.. I had to wire up a pool pump motor... But I did find a few minutes beforehand to take a few shots. I am happy with my first shot for sure... 20yds. Looks like my grouping is improved greatly at that distance also. All my shots are on horizontally, they just waver a bit from right to left. I plan on getting a drop away rest and get rid of the whisker biscuit
  9. Had a few minutes last night to fling a few arrows... this was 20 yards. My grouping is much improved over last year!
  10. I am pumped for sure! I had a little time last night to shoot the bow and I did surprisingly well! I cannot wait for the opener! Ill be out scouting a few spots this weekend also!
  11. I bought min online this year and made a typo for the doe tags... I wanted 9H and 8G but put typed in 9G by accident. I know they give out 8G's like candy come November 1st but I don't want to use my either sex because I don't have an 8G... Anyways, I did get both tags .
  12. A big cheeseburger with peanut butter and jelly on it... don't laugh, it is exceptional. (Mooneys style) Sardines ...mmmm
  13. Definitely impressive numbers! Here's the downside with GDI, and I am in it right now... My 2014 Silverado 5.3 (120 k miles) can no longer regulate fuel trims at an idle, so If I am stuck in stop and go traffic for 20 or 30 minutes, it throws a PO172 and PO175, bank 1 and 2 rich... because the intake valves and ports are all crudded up with carbon... no fixing this without pulling the intake and mechanically cleaning.. This will be the new norm in maintenance until they add port injection to keep the valves clean. I think Toyota has started doing this...
  14. This is true but GDI engines also have a higher compression ratios..
  15. My 2014 Silverado 5.3 is getting 21 on the highway...
