  1. I’m with ya on the 10-2. That always seems to be my time frame for seeing deer. I always make sure to have a snack and bathroom break before 10 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Slow morning so far. Only a shot here and there. Now that the mixed precipitation has passed I hope they start moving otherwise this is going to be a long day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. In the stand ready to go in 8g. Touch of snow on the ground and 32 degrees. Umbrella is up and we don’t seem to have the wind as bad any more. Hoping for a good day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Ended up seeing 4 deer. All from 1pm on. No shots fired even though they where within range. Tomorrow’s another day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Rain is holding off and magic hour is upon us Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. At 1pm I had 2 doe roll through being chased by a buck. I let the doe pass to get a look at the buck. He ended being a big body fork. He got a pass. They seem to be moving this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Learned a good lesson that year. Next time it snows that much stay inside and pay someone to do the driveway. I busted my ass for three days cleaning half the driveway. Should have just stayed in and had quality family time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Not much rain. My shots being fired than last year but I haven’t seen anything yet. The wind is making it a little chilly but not bad at all here in 8g. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. 6:50 was the first shot here. I don’t think I could positively ID something out past 15 yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Flushed a turkey on the way in. I now have poop in my pants. In the stand. Umbrella up. No shots yet. Nother 20 min to go Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Good luck grampy. And good luck everyone else as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I tried to go to bed early. That failed when it took 2 hours to fall asleep. Good news is I’m up and going. Good luck out there! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you have much success in the late season? I didn’t do the late season last year my thought was it would be a bust as they would still be skiddish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. That's good news so far, thoughts and prayers moving forward.
  17. 12ga Rem 1100 with a non powered red dot scope It hasn't let me down in all the years I've used it so i don't want to let it down by taking my side piece with me instead.

    The End

I’m only into my second year hunting with a bow and have yet to take one but I kinda feel the same way. I don’t know if it’s the projected forecast for opening day or what but I do not feel all giddy about Saturday. I would have loved to take one with the bow so there was no pressure on gun season to get one. Not everything works out like we want so I’ll be out there Saturday braving the weather in hopes on getting something. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Anyone else oddly turned on by that?.... No?.... yeah me either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I almost put mine up in the opening day spot last weekend but considering it only takes a min or two to put up ill just pack it in Saturday morning and put it up right away. it ties to the tree pretty good so the wind shouldn't be an issue.
  21. Dang reeltime what a great buck! Congratulations
  22. If most of its going to ground then you will be fine to cut it frozen. Unless its a solid block frozen where the knife wont even cut it. The tenderloin and back strap should come out with little difficulty.
  23. Hand and foot warmers duck taped everywhere to the deer and some inside the cavity!!!!! Kidding do not try this! If you have some sort of space heater I would try that in the garage first before bringing it into the basement. If its a small space heater and a big garage perhaps fabricating some sort of tarp wall around the deer with the space heater inside that? I dunno worth a shot.
  24. Way to own it and call yourself out on it.
