  1. In the flash forwards it seems like rick is sick like as in the walker flu then he is also old and grey with a heaven like glow to the entire seen. Makes you wonder that's for sure.
  2. Cant complain about that one. I’m hooked again. I liked a lot of the foreshadowing that they did. Now let’s hope the keep the momentum going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Welcome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I always knew I never liked him!!!! Kidding of course I think we joined the forum around the same time and I remember his first buck just days into deciding he wanted to be a hunter. Seemed like a real great dude. Have him stop on by and share his story. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I read 500 yards. And 7pm. Isn’t it dark at 7pm? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Nope never a good idea. What happens if you hit the release on accident? I get what your trying to do and practicing moving is ok but I would suggest moving to a standing position bring the bow up and pull you arm back but never actually draw the bow. Same motions to hide from the deer but no chance of an accidental arrow release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I agree with all above and from the sounds of it you guys are already pretty friendly so I would hope this would be an easy conversation to have. Unfortunately sometimes a big deer can make people do stupid things they normally wouldn’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Holy crap how long did you leave them there!? They hit that hard. Hope they at least left you a nice tip for their meal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Awesome. I love pheasant hunting. And pheasant meat. Congratulations and I hope your husband is doing well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. So to pick up my story from yesterday 4 others and myself went out late morning to pick up where we left off. We quickly found more blood. The trail went on for 50-75 then nothing. We all searched that area for quite a long time. After a few hours we decided to go back to the hit sight and see if we could find the arrow now that it’s light out. We find the arrow 30 yards back and left of where I hit him. Arrow had almost no blood on it, fat and hair. As Belo stated earlier brisket shot. I’m a bit happy to know that he will more than likely survive the shot and a bit bummed I didn’t make a better shot. My daughter was with me at my side from start to finish which is pretty cool. I think the last 2 days taught her some important things about hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I love it! It’s sketchy as hell and I’d be terrified but I still love it. As a father of young kids I just don’t see a lot of this anymore. Seems like it died out with dare I say technology Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Had an eventful evening hunt with my daughter. Could not have been in the stand more than 30 min when a small doe came by about 60 yards. She was just milling about and the daughter was all excited. The doe turns to walk away and I give her a few calls just to see if she could get any closer just for our amusement. My surprise she turns around and starts coming back. Now we are just watching her mill about still 60+ yards away. When out of the corner of my eye I catch movement. Sure enough 2 small bucks join in on the fun. One has a decent body but not much of a rack. I drew back on him and he caught my movement and ran away but the other one stayed and now the doe has joined next to him. They are both about 75 yards away and not responding to my calls don’t matter what I do. So we sit there content at watching them when another buck comes trotting into view! He’s a decent body 6 pointer nothing to write home about but also not one to pass on with my daughter in the stand with me. He comes into 40 yards almost perfectly board side and I let the arrow fly! The shot felt ok but the sound at impact sounded more like a smack into the ground vs. a solid thud into the deer. Caulked it up to a miss figured we would get down find the arrow and get out of there before dark. Well no arrow to be found. Do a quick check for blood or hair also nothing. Now it’s getting dark so I call for help from the guys I’m with. They arrive with big flash lights and off we go following what I think the path the buck took was. Takes us 30 yards but we find blood! Not a lot but it’s deep red. Few more feet more blood again and again more spots of blood but still not a lot. This goes on for almost an hour and maybe only covering 200 -300 yards. We hit last blood it’s almost 8pm and we are not 100% sure where in the woods we are. So we mark it and back out. At least three of us will be back in the morning to continue. We all have the same thought that it’s a liver hit and we should be able to find him. Now will he survive a bit of a warm night and the coyotes who knows. The good New is the daughter absolutely loved it all well except the pitch black woods and will be joining me tomorrow on the track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Just got in the stand. 1.5 hours is better than no hours. Jumped one walking in. Was about 75 yards away from the stand. Squirrels are going nuts. Hope to see one as I got my lil hunting partner with me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ive done the 3x5 card before. I Moho give TF permission to transport my deer from camp to home yada yada yada. That was before you could sign tags over to people. Couldn’t she just sign her tag over to you and be on the up and up? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Selling for a friend. Parker hunter mag left handed Compound bow. It was last used 2 years ago. The peep sight needs to be fixed for sure. Other than that everything looks to be good. I’m not a bow expert by any means and neither is he. $100 or best offer. I prefer not to ship just because it’s a pain but would be willing to meet up somewhere with in reason. I’m 35 min east of Buffalo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Just fired a quick shot at 20 yards to make sure I could draw the bow back with no pain since I royally messed my back up last night. Little high but I wasn’t to focused on the target just concerned about pain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Hunting from the couch again. Coffee in hand dog curled up to my left my girls next to me on the right. Hurt my back pretty bad yesterday but I made a promise to hit the woods this evening with my oldest. Gotta stay true to my words so I’ll hit up the live from the woods thread later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I’m ready for I just hope it’s better than the last season. The last season almost lost me but I hung on. If this season drags on as much I’ll probably be out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. For me it’s in the stand and ready 30 min before sunrise. If I hunt my one stand that 3/4 of a mile walk I start walking an hour before sunrise. That’s mostly for bow season. Gun season after opening weekend I’m much more relaxed on when I start Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I hate throwing food out. I’ll figure out one way or another how to repurpose it into another meal. I know people that refuse to eat leftovers and waste so much food and money it’s a shame. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Venison stew meat sautéed mushrooms and garlic cloves with some rice and green beans. Gonna throw it in some beef stock and have a soup/stew. This is what I like to refer to as a left overs dinner. Just trying to use things up before they go bad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I have put down wounded deer before never hesitated and would do it again without hesitation. A common theme amongst most hunters is their compassion for animals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Ohhh that feels so good. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
