Started the blind today. With any luck I’ll have it in the woods by mid September. It will be 6 foot by 5.5 foot with a 2.5 foot platform. Welcome to the addiction! A suggestion on gear for your first year. You don't need top of the line gear to enjoy hunting and time in the woods. Many of us have hunted and are still hunting with middle of the road gear or hand me downs and do just fine. Focus your money on a good pair of boots and some good under layers to keep you warm. After that this sport is all about learning and practice. The more you do of both the more successful you will be and the more enjoyment you will get out of it. Some of the best days in the woods wont even involve shooting a deer.

I might go the Town Clerk route this year. Last year's on-line sales was buggy, I remember a few of us having issues and I ended up having to go to Cabelas to have new tags printed anyways. Hopefully the new system is bug free.
