I carry enough to fill the gun and then an extra box (2 for shotgun) because Id rather have enough to be able to blast a yote or two if need be, plus not worry about not having enough to be able to put 1 shot and a finishing shot for each tag in my pocket. If I had the opportunity to tag out in a day, Id take it. And I dont mix ammo. I hunted with a guy last year that just had a pocket full of random slugs and wondered why he unloaded the gun twice on deer and never hit anything. Needless to say, I wont be hunting with him again.

Interesting, but do you have any links to articles, info to read about it? What you are saying seems to completely contradict what I have read about the audit that has been done on the FED.

I have donated deer before, and will do it after I get a certain amount in my freezer. Its a great program.

When and if he does do that, then call the DEC. It sounds like the guy is acting a bit like an idiot, but you should try to be the bigger man and not retaliate, just let the law deal with him if he insists on being a jackass.

Well, you cant do much about the stands, as long as hes on his land and doesnt cross the line, he has every right to be there. Let the DEC bust him for baiting, bout all you can do at this point.

It is not illegal to shoot a coyote with a deer caliber gun. It is only illegal to hunt coyotes (or any other game for that matter) with a centerfire rifle in a non-rifle zone during an open deer season.

I agree 100% Dave. I may see a trail cam pic and say Id rather pass it or that Id shoot it, but thats just my opinion at the time, and no way anyone should take it as anything but that. Ive shot small deer, shot one this year, and I congratulate anyone on any deer they take. If its legal, and you want to shoot it, by all means, have at it. Gun season is here and for me, that means Ill be whacking slicks and watching any little guys, my buck tag will be put on a mature deer or a sandwich after the season is out.

Yep, I put a finishing shot on a deer once that hit the femoral. Dropped her on the spot, which was good, but not what I meant to do.

Well, Ive told the story before about having a deer bed downwind of me, and he wasnt acting like anything was out of the ordinary until about 30 seconds after I lit a cigarette, and he sniffed the air for a second, jumped up and quickly got out of there. Or the fact that I got busted by deer downwind of me last year while I was using those scent wafers, but not since I stopped using them. I have also used the scent killer spray to get rid of stink on my dog and a few other things and it worked good. I dont have any scientific way of testing it, but from my experience its proof enough to me. BTW, I dont believe that it works by eliminating all scent, it just reduces it to a level where it probably makes the deer figure that the human must be a distance away instead of right there.

Once the cold weather sets in, they will disappear.

I hate finding trash in the woods. If I know I am going to hunt state land, Ill bring a plastic bag with me to toss junk in and throw it out at home. People are just slobs.

Why not? small game hunters shoot in the woods for 2 months before gun season for deer opens. Gun shots dont spook deer, all of the people in the woods do that.

Nobody is saying they should be there like they have been for some time now.

I can certainly understand why it started and what it was all about. From 2007 to 2010, the FED apparently handed out $16 trillion in bailouts in relative secracy. They were not published and much of it went to overseas governments and companies. Ill see if I can find a link or two. The movement quickly changed into something else, as I figured it would. KInda like how the Tea Party movement was hijacked by people that really dont represent what it was originally about.
