  1. Most of the deer are bottle fed and very used to people. I gotta admit though, I was pretty nervous around them at first.
  2. Cantrell, If I get either of these guys, Ill be talking to you. Sam, where do you see the 3rd split? Ive magnified each pic and can only see 2. BTW, theres no QDM going on here and no ARs. The people that hunt this farm hunt to eat from what Ive been told, which is why I didnt expect to see bucks like this. My daughter helped me name both deer, the wide 11 point is now called Hayrake and the drop tine is Picklefork.
  3. I shot my BHs the other day, and they are flying right with my field tips, no adjustment to my bow what so ever. My bow has been properly tuned and the end result is that my fixed blade BHs fly the same as my field points.
  4. I replaced my harness this year with the Gorilla Exo-tech G3, which has a longer strap to allow more movement. It is a shock absorbing strap so it wont shock you if you fall. I will be able to place the tree strap a bit higher as well, to keep the strap out of the way.
  5. Well, Ive seen some giant deer on a deer farm. A couple were well over 200". In the wild, Id have to say in the 140s probably. I have a couple of bruisers that Ive caught on cam recently.
  6. HAHAHA I was waiting for someone to say that. The funny thing is, I just got access to this farm last year, and didnt hunt it much because I didnt have any time to scout and did not want to screw up the spots that the other people who hunt here already had. I had absolutely no idea that this farm held deer like this. I did some shed hunting in the spring and came up with a little 4 point shed, but nothing else. Ive seen some little 8s and one good 8, but thats about it. Im still in a bit of shock over what I got on my camera. I moved the cam to face a different direction yesterday, so I cant wait to see what I get in a couple of weeks. I sure wish my other camera hadnt died on me.
  7. The DEC has written boundaries on their site. They tell you things like west of this road and south of that road. That should be the easiest way to figure out just where the boundaries are.
  8. They have had deer for 12 years. The whole farm is pretty big, but they raise Black Angus, Horses, and are an active grain farm. The deer section of the farm is only 30 or 40 acres. The biggest pen is something like 5 acres they said, and the average ones are an acre or so. The have 30 or 35 deer.
  9. Yeah the one in the first 2 pics is very symetrical except for the split G3 on his right side. Im guessing him to be a real good 3 1/2 or a 4 1/2 year old from the body size. The one in the last 3 pics, hes not symetrical at all, and has that huge drop tine on the left antler, along with a split brow and if you zoom in, it looks like he has alot of junk at the bases. Id gues him to be a 5 1/2 because he is so much more bulky and looks to have some good sway in his back.
  10. Its in Rush, NY. I didnt ask about the stand, but I did see it. Im guessing someone set it there while they were doing chores or something.
  11. Here are some of the 3 1/2s and 4 1/2s This one was a 5 1/2 if I remember right. Hell of a spread. This one is a 6 1/2 triple beam buck named Thor. He was very nice but she didnt get him to come over so we didnt get blood from his rack on us.
  12. We went to a local deer farm that offers tours, etc. It was pretty neat. My poor daughter had a doe step on her toe and cut it open pretty good, but we bandaged it up and kept going. Got some good pics. Amazing to stand next to and pet these monsters. Heres a piebald doe, my daughter was happy as a clam! Believe it or not, this guy is only 2 1/2
  13. Buy a box of each kind and pattern them. When you are done, pick the one that patterns the best.
  14. Here are some of the pics I liked from my cam the last couple of weeks.
  15. What do you guys think of these big boys? Any guesses on scores? First one Second one
  16. I ended up doing the trade. Ill post the pics when it gets here. Im happy that I wont have to borrow my buddy's ML anymore. Any tips on good loads for it would be appreciated.
  17. Personally, I would dig a few inches around the shed, about a foot or so out from it and put the weed fabric in there covered by crushed stone, and then some edging between it and the grass. That would make it super low maintenance, keep the weeds down and help with the water dripping off of the roof. For plants, I would just get a few flower boxes that would sit on the ground next to it and plant in those.
  18. Great mounts and room!
  19. First off, who the....do you think you are to tell me what I can and cannot say? Second, you can take my comments however you would like to, but they are nothing more than my opinion, which I am allowed to have regardless of what you think I should or should not be able to have.
  20. I let mine marinate for 2 weeks. It would be easier to take if one of my cams didnt die, so I could stagger them and have something to check each week or so.
