  1. Go to Walmart. They carry the Hunters Specialties netting and blind material.I use it and it works great.
  2. Looks cool. Ive been thinking of doing something similar for areas that just dont have a suitable tree. I used to use an old metal fence post for my cam that I had under some apple trees, but I had to use a sledge hammer to pound that thing in. Not portable at all.
  3. Theyve been around for years. The bow manufacturers void your warranty if you use one, and permits to use them have always been extremely hard to get. To answer your question about those things making crossbows unnecessary to legalize, the answer is no. If you want to use a crossbow, you should be able to. If you want to use a draw lock, you should be able to.
  4. Im not big on mechanicals, but thats just my opinion. Should be fine for the bow you are shooting, you will have enough KE for them.
  5. Hes supposed to send a few pics tonight, but I think Im gonna take it. I wont use the bow, Ill use the ML for sure though. My fiance is gonna kill me when I tell her I need to buy another scope lol.
  6. IF anyone is getting denied for an area on the first go-round, chances are they wont be handing out any extras at the store, they would mail them to people that got denied if there are any extras. You still may get that DMP this year.
  7. Im asking $225 for the bow. The ML is either nickel or stainless barrel and black stock.
  8. Did you just say that Im not allowed to have an opinion because Im a moderator? I dont like the mount, and I dont care who did it. Thats my opinion, and its not my problem if you dont like it. We still live in America, and even Moderators have the freedom of speech.
  9. Does anyone have experience with Thomson Center Black Diamond MLs? I have someone offering me one in trade for a bow, but Im not sure if it would be worth it. TC does not make the gun any longer, and Ive read some mixed reviews. Just wondering if its worth the trade or should I sell the bow and put the cash toward a different ML?
  10. Im not really talking about the wrinkles in the neck where it turns, more like the overuse of muscle definition in the front of the neck and on the sides of its face. Makes it look unnatural to me. Just my opinion though.
  11. Probably not, seeing as there isnt one. All you have to do is print off and sign the Croosbow cert found here... http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/crossbowform.pdf
  12. Yep. The best time to go looking for permission is in the spring. That way you can scout the area and get to know the landowner better.
  13. Amazing how many people dont read the rules, isnt it?
  14. Like the op, I probably wont be getting one until they add them to bow season, or allow them during gun season in bow only areas. Lawdwaz, prove yourself to be correct.
  15. Welcome to the forum. Your best bet is going to be knocking on doors, and be ready for alot of No's and maybe some doors slammed on you. Keep at it though, and youll find something.
  16. Now how am I supposed to control the scent of that! Son of a!!!
  17. I forgot that today was the opener for early goose season. I was getting up and heard some geese flying by, then within a few minutes heard about 15 shots go off. It was pretty funny. Hopefully I can get out a time or two this year. The geese have been hitting the cut wheat fields near me quite a bit the last couple of weeks.
  18. That sounds like a great Idea. The bottle of wine probably couldnt hurt. Just because they are religious, doesnt mean they dont enjoy a glass of wine. Hey if you have some syrup that needs a home, Id be more than willing to take some off your hands. I love me some real maple syrup. Shoot me over some details on how much it costs etc.
  19. The notification and PM icons are there now.
  20. I saw one like that out in my driveway rubbing the velvet off of his antlers on the tire of my Mercedes too.
  21. The Predator parka and bibs are great. I usually just wear a base layer and then those. I will start wearing them once temps go below 40 or so.
  22. Regardless of where it happened, thats a crappy way for an old bruiser like that to go.
  23. Ill post it when I get home tonight.
  24. I got to talking back and forth with the DEC officer about how the stores are allowed to sell the stuff. Apparently, it used to be the law that they had to post signs explaining that it is illegal to use for wild deer, trail cams or hunting, but the law was repealed a couple of years ago. That explains why a couple of years ago, places like Gander Mountain started carrying more of the crap. I tell ya, this state just doesnt make sense.
