send letters for crossbows in NY

LMAO want the canned reply: There're not traditional! Lets see crossbow was invented before the firearm. OK so it post dates the slingshot and spear; which pre-dates the compound bow. HAHAHA ;D -

Dont hold your breath for an answer lol -
LOL, do you actually think the Dems will be in power by then? Even alot of the people that voted that "Obomination" into office are regretting it.
-
I doubt that. But lets play devil's advocate. You do have to renew your drivers license, and an instant background check wouldnt be the end of the world. Now a 9 month check process each time its renewed, no way.
-
Yep, you can carry a shotgun over state lines, but youd better be aware of that next state's regulations regarding how you can posess it in your car, etc. Just like handguns should be with a nationally recognized permit. See, I dont like to bring a bat to a gunfight, I like to bring a gun to a bat fight lol. I always want the advantage when it comes to defending myself.
-
I said I dont agree with the way things are downstate. Up here though, the process I went through and the way my permit doesnt have to ever be renewed is fine. $200 really isnt that much in the grand scheme of life. If you can afford a handgun, you can afford $200 for the one time permit fee. If you dont send the papers in when you know theres a time limit, its your own fault.
-
That sounds a hell of alot better than the way it is now though, doesnt it? If you are going to go through another state, be aware of their laws, its not that hard.
-
I got my PA License two weeks ago. It bothers me that I can get a conceal carry there with no problem and not here in NY because you have to show sufficient need. And besides, in Nassau / Suffolk / Westchester your permit is only good for 5 years and not for life, the fee's are outrageous as well. Maybe these new lawsuits will change this. I agree John, it is bothersome to me that the permits are not "until revoked" everywhere in NY like they are up here. The fees arent bad at all here either, under $200 and you dont have to ever renew it.

I have used Realtree Hardwoods in the past, but have noticed after seeing trailcam photos of myself walking by that the patterns are way too dark for the most part, and the deer dont see the detail in the pattern, so I am switching over to Predator Fall Grey as I replace my stuff. Lots of light area and contrasting in it.
-
I was using drivers licenses as an example. I never said CDLs, I know those are different. And we are talking handgun laws, not all guns.
-
Oh and as far as NY setting the precedent with how the permitting process should go, Im pretty much fine with that with a few tweaks, like the policy in NYC, I dont agree with that at all. It will be gone before long though. Now you want to discuss other points on NY gun laws? Theres lots of things I do not agree with. ;D
-
See Bubba, where we differ is where the line needs to be drawn. You apparently agree that there needs to be a line, right? As far as different states go with handgun permits, every state recognized each other's drivers licenses, why not handgun permits as well as long as that state has gone through the same level or better of a permitting process? Get the states on board with each other on background checks and all is well. Doc, I am on board with what you said. My opinion on where the line is set is pretty obvious from what I have posted in this thread.
-
I really should subscribe to that. With my luck it would be soaked everytime, like my Penny Saver ;D
-
Yep, the Utah permit is on my list of things to do in the next year.
-
Well then, if youve had a history of things like that happening (getting out of control due to low blood sugar), you shouldnt get one. Im not back peddling at all.
-
Thats not necessarily true, there are many states that recognize each other's permits. Look, you already go through an FBI your NYS pistol permit, meaning your record has been checked nationally, not just statewide. Why shouldnt you be able to carry anywhere if you passed that kind of scrutiny?
-
Ok, so why would you want that irrational individual that would go steal a gun, to be able to legally buy one?
-
Bubba, theres a big difference between a guy that has low insulin and wont allow you to put him on a backboard, and some guy that looses his mind because he didnt take his meds, grabs his gun and opens fire.
-
Ive been saying theres a big difference all along Doc. I am in no way for permitting of longguns, Muzzleloaders or shotguns. Pistols, however, I do agree with permits for them. I also think that the current system of permitting is fine and should not be changed other than the permits should be nationally recognized and you should be allowed to carry over state lines as long as you have a concealed carry permit.

LOL, its her tounge. I cropped it out of one of my trailcam pics I got so far this year. I wish it was color.

send letters for crossbows in NY
WNYBuckHunter replied to sits in trees's topic in NYS DEC News and Annoucements
This thread is loaded with 20 pages of reasons. Bottom line, its a weapon more similar to a gun than anything else. i.e. scope, stock, trigger, locked and loaded, point and shoot......therefore it does not belong in the archery season. It shoots arrows tipped by a broadhead at a short range, powered by a string, not powder and has no barrel. Its archery equipment, classified as such by FITA and most other international and national sanctioning bodies. It belongs with the rest of the archery equipment. -
Looking for Encore Muzzleloader barrel

Thanks for the links -
LMAO, you couldnt be more wrong about me. I dont really care what your opinion is of me or who you think I voted for. I do know that you continue to show yourself for what you are with each and every post.

I already answered the question, but you keep asking it. The only thing relentless about Bubba are his lies.
