  1. LOL, keep on twisting. We are talking about concealed carry permits here. I have been perfectly clear. If you dont get it, then you never will.
  2. Right here.... Ok, let me spell it out for you, since you dont seem to be understanding what I am saying... I dont feel comfortable with a mentally unstable individual being able to legally carry an easily concealable handgun. If he wants to own a shotgun that is large, bulky and cant be hidden under his shirt, then thats fine by me. Less of a chance of him bringing it with him, losing his cool and using it. Nothing hypocritical about it. Now, if you wish to try and twist my comments some more, knock yourself out. : Whether a mental instability is born in or medicated in makes no difference to me. Until that person is off of the medication that causes them to be mentally unstable, they should not be carrying around a gun. PERIOD. My opinion. Thank you for playing.
  3. I havent said two different things in PMs and on the forum. Youve got things so twisted around you cant keep track. Keep burying yourself, its fun to watch.
  4. Yes, in a PM I said noone that is on meds for an unstable mental condition should have a pistol permit, and it mean exactly that. Ive said it before on the old forum, you arent uncovering anything about me. I never said i didnt believe in the constitution, you are a flat out liar.
  5. In no way does that say go get one. You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion, but I am not going to sit by while you intentionally twist my words into another meaning.
  6. Id like to give it a try with my 3D target, but its too heavy to carry in. The lighter weight decoys are too expensive for me to buy just to experiment with.
  7. Ideally, Id like to see the season go Oct 1 to Jan 1, knock regular gun season down to 2 weeks, then let the MLs back in after a couple weeks for another 2 weeks. Add x-bows in for the whole time and youve got the recipe for great hunting straight through 3 months. Back to the original subject though, I like early season more than the rut, especially with archery equipment. Deer go crazy during the rut and become very unpredictable. It can be feast or famine in many places.
  8. The first one I bought was a Moultrie D40, its been a great flash cam thats on its 4th season. Last year I picked up a Wildgame Innovations IR4, its a decent cam that I got for a great price. The only problem it had was the plastic "ears" that hold the battery contacts were brittle and broke off. I rewired it for an external battery pack and its perfect now. I believe the new models have an external battery attachment from the factory. This past off season, I acquired a Moultrie I60. Its a decent cam, but has a few issues with shooting B&W pix during the day, etc. Battery life is far better than the other two cams though, and the IR field is alot larger than the WGI IR4.
  9. Did I ever say he was ever hospitalized for anything? Nope. So how did I advise him to break the law? Again, I never told him to buy a shotgun, just said that a pump shotgun would make a better gun for home protection than a pistol. You arent doing too good at twisting things around, might as well stop trying because you havent improved lol.
  10. A Thompson Center Encore chambered in 260 Remington is my primary deer gun. I love it, more challenging than a shotgun, but a greater effective range.
  11. I never hit those deer in Wheatland, but my car did find itself on its top in a ditch because I hit the brakes and spun out in the gravel. I have only ever hit one deer (knock on wood) but I have been hit by 4 or 5 over the years. Mind you, alot of my jobs have been basically driving for a living, so I spend probably two or three times as much time on the road as most people.
  12. I still have yet to hear a good argument of why crossbows are "inappropriate" for use in an archery season.
  13. I went to high school at Wheatland Chili, tons of deer out there. I wrecked a car because of deer crossing in front of me on a curve of a road covered in pea-gravel out there.
  14. They probably do hold permits back, thats why they have the second chance date when you can go back and get the left over DMPs or people that got their license late can get some. Id be willing to bet that in areas such as 8H, 8n, etc they end up with leftover permits even after the second chance drawing. I wonder if the DEC ever released that info.

  16. http://www.dec.ny.gov/permits/26368.html As you can see, its been a pretty steady decline with the exception of 08/09. I am almost positive that had to do with the jump in lifetime sales because of the increase in price. They shot themselves in the foot though, look at last year's numbers.
  17. The handgun is easily concealable, A shotgun, in legal configuration, not so much. This guy is citing home protection as a reason to get a carry permit. Thats a bunch of bull. If my house was broken into and I needed to defend myself, the first thing Im grabbing is my shotgun, not my handgun.
  18. Again, you dont know the guy, commenting on whether someone you dont know should or shouldnt have a handgun permit is pretty silly. Dont you think? You seriously think that if someone is unstable when they miss their meds, and has big mood swings at those times, they should carry a handgun? Really? Theres no holier than thou attitude here.
