  1. Hank Parker should have stayed a fisherman. The guy shoots too many antlers off for my liking. Oh wait, wrong guy making bad shots lol.
  2. Damn skippy Doc! I kill deer and will never apologize for it. If someone wants to call me a killer, then so be it.
  3. That has nothing to do with QDM, those are farm deer. :
  4. Show some examples of guys that drive deer with crossbows. : I wont be holding my breath waiting.
  5. There are more archery only areas than you realize around urban areas. The best way to implement x-bows is to add them to archery season, then you could shorten down gun season without too many complaints.
  6. Outside of work, most guys I know and hang around with hunt. I dont live in the city though.
  7. Please give me a reason I can believe that a bowhunter would convert to crossbow if it were legal? Who said they would convert? Just add to the arsenal. All hunters dont go through life with blinders on.
  8. Culver, there are pics of two different big bucks. Pics 6 and 8 are the same deer, but 10 and 11 are a different deer. Look at the brow tines. Nice pics though, especially for a Wildview cam.
  9. Man, you definitely have the same gene pool over by you lol. The ones around my place are almost all wacky looking too.
  10. I know quite a few guys that are in favor for it, have written their letters and are planning on purchasing them once they are legal. Every single one of them is a bow hunter except one who cant bow hunt any longer due to shoulder problems. Personally, I may end up getting one down the road, but not in the near future.
  11. It cant be lack of water, at least not in my area lol. We are almost 6 inches above average since June.
  12. Im right along side of you Geno, I get those $10 certificates all the time. I always take my receipts home and enter them online to make sure my card scanned properly lol
  13. Great points steve863. I dont doubt that somewhere in the background, the crossbow companies are backing the legalization of crossbow hunting in NY. Youd have to be silly not to think that. I do however, believe that the public call for them to be allowed has more to do with the bill getting passed.
  14. I would double check on that, mine specifically says that its a concealed carry permit. There are a couple of different ones, and it depends on what you applied for.
  15. Good point Eddie, weight can be an issue and is a good thing to think about. I too, am in the market for a decent pair of 8x or 10x binos this year. I saw some Bushnells at Gander that looked good, but Im gonna hold off just a little longer and see how good of a deal I can get. I would love to get a pair of Vortex binos, I love my Vortex scope, but I just dont want to spend that much on binos at this point.
  16. Yeah I was golfing during lunch and there were leaves on the fairway. Some out in my back yard too.
  17. I nor anyone else is asking you to bow to anyone, especially me. Im just a member of the site that spends alot of time here and helps out when I can. I give my opinion and advice just like everyone else.
  18. Now with that said, now is a great time to pick up a set of binos. The stores have tons of stuff on sale and you can pick up a decent set of binos from Bushnell, etc for under $100. Check Dicks Sporting Goods or Gander Mountain, Bass Pro, Cabelas, etc. Dont let these optics salesmen fool you, you dont need high end optics just to hunt, but you dont want complete junk either. Youll want something that has good anti fog coatings and some that are shock resistant if possible. Look through as many as you can and buy the best ones you can afford.
  19. That is some seriously BAD advice. A scope mounted on a gun is not supposed to be used for spotting purposes, it is dangerous. That is what a spotting scope or binos are for. >
  20. You can't really just have a survey to decide things. It would be like putting the fox in charge of the chicken coup. If asked, of course the gun hunters would vote yes to crossbows during archery season. It would just be an extension of gun season for them and the end of archery season for bowhunters. If you want a vote on crossbows during archery season it should only include those with a current archery license. Really? Seeing as every single person that holds a big game hunting license would be affected by it, its only fair to include every single person that holds one. Unless the crossbow bill gets veto'ed, it will become law in about 50ish days anyhow. The only hurdle after that will be left will be including it with the rest of the archery equipment, where it belongs.
  21. You arent going to be able to stand up in it, it will still be a teardrop style, kinda like this....
  22. So I am building a custom teardrop camper out of a 4x8 utility trailer I have sitting around. Ive been thinking about how I want to build it and thought that making it into a personal size, personal hunting camp. I will be building it with some built in space for cooking, a propane grill that attaches to the side (like an RV-cue), plenty of storage space for hunting equipment and unlike most teardrops, it will be insulated and have a small heater included. There will be enough space for two to sleep and it will be light enough to be towed by just about anything. Do any of you guys have any input on what other features would be good? Keep in mind it needs to stay lite.
