  1. Currently I owe 24k... dealer is giving me a trade of 41k. New rig is 51k. What do I pay tax on?
  2. Let's see what next weekend looks like. Maybe we can manage a hunt at the farm.
  3. Is there birds in the area? Fresh sign? I like to sit for about a hr after fly down if I'm not hearing anything. Then I start looking.
  4. Went back to mow my clients lawn today. Found 16 morels in there lawn, lol. Now to somehow keep them cool in my truck for the day.
  5. Your missing the point. Sometimes you get caught out of position. Many times I've peeked around a tree to keep tabs on a approaching tom. Many times I've had to shift to the right to gain a better shot angle. Ya I try to wait till he's blocked by a tree or a rock, but if your careful and a little lucky, it's definitely doable. Just like this opening day. Had two toms gobble behind me. I shifted around but had a huge oak 6' in front of me. They ended up 12 yrds away directly behind that tree. Had no clue which side of the tree they were going to end up. I picked the right side, they picked the left. I slowly inched my gun to the left a couple feet and shot him at 12 steps.
  6. I don't believe a trail cam is going to have live video feed, and most won't have a 100' range.
  7. I hate seeing that. Should be some goslings around there soon. Been seeing some in my area for about a week.
  8. In the fall, I wouldn't hesitate. Just couldn't shoot one in the spring. But it's legal. Will definitely be a cool mount.
  9. I've killed several birds that came in on my right, by quickly switching to shoot left handed. No different then slowly peeking over a boulder.
  10. Went out this morning. Not a single gobble. It's my last morning getting up early. I'll drive by the farm and if I see one in a spot I can get to without them spotting me, I'll sneak in and try some soft calling.
  11. Looks like your bird lost some of his beard during the winter, which is common. This guy lost it shortly after may 1st. Maybe he looked at a calendar and purposely had a hen step on his beard. Lol
  12. Could be it was loose from the winter ice and snow, and as Bill said, he or maybe a hen stepped on it and it pulled off. I top soiled and seeded that area 5 days before it took this pic.
  13. Was mowing a clients lawn the other day, and what do I see laying in a freshly seeded area? A turkeys beard. Somewhere there's a nice tom without a beard, lol.
  14. How is that possible. It's shif on the fly. Edit: Just talked to my nephew that has two of them. Shifting into FWD will put the parking brake on when in park. When moving, it's shift on the fly.
  15. That's what there giving me for trade. New I have to order. There's no 2500 or 3500 on the lot, or in my area. New I priced on Chevrolet.com build and price, and it came out the same in the dealer. There's no rebates at all. Inventory is so low or non existent on HD trucks that your paying sticker. One reason they want my truck so bad. They would have it sold before I handed them the keys.
  16. 3:73. The 6.0 was a great engine, but lacked the power.
  17. Thinking of trading in my Ford F350. Dealer is giving me $41. Payed $43 two yrs ago. Looking at Silverado 3500 with the 6.6 gas engine. Has to be a huge upgrade from the old 6.0 power wise. Anyone having issues with the new 6.6?
  18. Cool pics, looks like he was after a goose dinner.
  19. Nice.. I'll take a pic of some of the oaks where I hunt. There not quite as big, but no rot at all.
  20. And it's first fire.
  21. In with the new. 30" well casing 20" deep. Need more blocks to finish it off.
