I have made a couple phone calls to places about camping during my hunting trip. Just trying to finalize lodging and had a quick question. My question for you can you camp right on the state game lands in PA? I know on some NY stateland you can camp on without a permit or anything wasn't sure if the same can be down in PA.

Just talked to my BIL the other day about this. He's a landscaper out of southern PA and was telling me he bought a mower in February for 10k went back because he had a different mower crap the bed on him and that same mower he just bought went up $4k. So he decided to rebuild his older one and hope prices go down soon and the rebuild will get him through the season.

Just going to be a matter of shooting different ones. I personally think elite and bowtech have some of the smoothest draw cycles. I can pull and hold my ritual for a long time without the best shoulders. Hope you find one that works for you so you can get out.
-
Hopefully I doesn't slam you guys like the one did too morris and gilbersville the other day. They got hit hard by a flash flood.
-
Look into the elite ember. They have a bare bow and a full setup bow for under 600 I want to say. Smooth draw and can get it down to 40lbs and when your shoulder feel better you can crank it back up to 60lbs if you want.

I'll be putting my cameras out finally tomorrow or Wednesday.

Nice. Ive been wanting to go but it won't stop raining.

35yard shot I'll take that group for me all day long. I'll shoot broadheads in a couple weeks to make sure I'm still all good and don't need to tinker more. I left all my broadheads on the arrows from last year so beside sharpening them quick I should be all good to go. Then I'll be shooting 3-5 arrows a day until season.

I don't have any warm weather rain gear for early season. I'm just looking for something that works but won't break the bank.

I said the same thing yesterday to one of my friends. Seems like every tree is loaded this year around me -
Have you tried asking any local farmers? Some might let you lease or hunt for free.

Missed that part.

Ok thank you. -
Quick Google search I found these 2

I would imagine most are filling up. Plenty of time to scout some stateland if you need a place to hunt.

XOP stands and sticks?
Swamp_bucks replied to Swamp_bucks's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
All built for the season. I finally got around to painting the new steps and adding the stealth strips to my stand and the sticks. I have a little bit left over that will go on my caribeaners for my safety harness. -
Thanks for the info. We are going down next month because I want to see how it actually looks where the roads are layed out cover, old sign ect.

I'm trying to get my scouting done for my PA trip however I've never hunted a piece of land this large or mountainous. I'm looking for a little insight on this one section I found. I'm planning on actually walking a couple sections this summer. The picture is setup for n&s. There's a land bridge between the 2 swamps indicated by the brown markers and agg fields off to the east about 500yards. I'm assuming the deer will be bedding on the points of the ridge that I have indicated with the pink dots. I will be hunting early season so my focus will be getting as close to bedding that has oaks or apples that will lead to the agg fields. How would you setup to hunt this area? Do you think they would bed on the points or in the swamps?
-
Same if I rattle its pretty light and only for maybe 30seconds. I keep hearing early season it works better to call that's why I was asking to see what everyone else thinks.
-
I never really tried grunting much during the early season. So my question is does using a grunt tube work in early season like it can during the rut?

Well it is official we talked about the PA trip yesterday. We are going from the 13-17th of October. There will be 5 going and sometime in August we are making a day trip out of it to get some scouting in and to purchase our tags. It's not the best time of year but it is the only days we could seem to get everyone freed up to go. We will be renting a cabin that sleeps 6. I've already been scouting maps on huntstand that look really good. I will be focusing on swamps and hoping there are some oaks around the couple I have found. Nice thing is I can be aggressive as I want since I only have 4 days to hunt. Can't wait for this trip.

Can't wait my group is getting together after my daughters bday party tomorrow to finalize our PA trip. I'm going to enjoy summer after getting 100" of snow this last winter but I'm really excited about this fall.
