37yrds. I need to start shooting from my stand in the next couple weeks. New stand so I have to get used to the platform.

I would have to say 2.5 maybe a 3.5

Went out for a scouting trip today. Found a killer spot not far from the road. It has easily a couple 100 rubs scattered in there. Found a bunch of old and new beds. All surrounded by apple trees. Also had a community rub in the bottom of 3 ridges. Trails are down to dirt. So I have a camera in there just to let it soak for a couple weeks just to see what's going on then I'll leave it alone until I get the right wind.

That spike is different. Nice bucks you have there.

Going great love my new job just my weekend to work. Waiting to see if someone will switch with me for that day but doesn't look like it.

As much as it sucks I have to work the day of the shoot so I won't be able to make it. I really wanted to meet up but I will have to try a different time. Have fun at the shoot.

Most importantly enjoying my time with my friends and family in the woods. The older I get the more I enjoy those times over actual time on stand. Enjoy the woods. Hopefully put myself in position to harvest another buck on stateland this year. It would be nice to harvest a buck in PA this fall also. Last but not least to push myself and trust my scouting from this summer and spring. I tend to not trust my gut instinct and the day I finally did listen to it I shot my buck last year. I finally found a style of hunting that suites me and I'm going all in this year. Last year I did the hang and hunt a little bit but when I did I saw more deer then sitting in a prehung stand.

38yrds I had my coach with me giving me pointers. Lol

I almost hit a hen with 7 little ones the other day. Locked my brakes up to miss them. They were all big enough to fly away.

Mine is that way tomorrow but she hates the 2 months leading up to it more than the actual season.

Just a little more not so nice type words involved. Lol

I bought her tickets to Chris Stapleton in early October. She's also going to NYC at the beginning of November. I've been down this road before. Wine and dine before season starts and every couple weeks during the season and she's usually happy.

Just sent this to my wife. I won't repeat what she said back. Lol

I bought some from Walmart a couple years ago to test them and they shot great. I had one rip off after just a couple shots so I contacted the company just to make sure I applied them correctly before I fletched all my arrows with them. I didn't I left them in to long and made them brittle like stated above. They sent me 3 full packs for 1 fletching coming off. Very good customer service. I used them for 2 years with zero issues after that.

I agree he is a sweet looking buck

Figured I would start my journal up again. I've been scouting hard this year. I've really gotten into more hang and hunt setups and have killed my 3 best deer since starting the process 5 years ago. I'm strictly stateland hunting this year. It's tough but when that chance comes to harvest a deer it's all worth it. I'm after a buck I named cedar last year. He made it through gun season. Just hoping he made it since I found his tracks again back in April. I found his track this time last year and tracked him last year during gun and jumped him never able to get a shot off. He stays within a 100acre piece of woods with deep ditches and a hidden pond that's at a base of a steep hill full of oaks on top. I've narrowed down a bunch of small swamps not to far off roadways that show a bunch of sign from last year. Luckily they are loaded with apples so it should help keep the deer in those over looked spot. At the end of the month we are headed to PA to scout for some mountain bucks. There is a group of 5 going and I can't wait. I have 3 cameras out currently with 1 more to go. One will be pulled this weekend to get moved to a second spot. Some satellite pictures of my areas I'm targeting.

Look like fun as always

Hopefully I can get a 7p this year. It's been 2 or 3 yrs since I got one.

Broadhead and field point 25yards. Not sure why the picture is upside down.

3c just over the border

Figure out where's he's bedding and what he's eating and setup in between.

We are all booked for our PA trip. Ended up getting ahold of a campsight and for 5 of us to camp with water and electric ends up coming Out to $10 a night per person. We are going down next month to get tags and scout for the day. Getting excited about this season. I put trail cameras out last week to see if the big buck from last year made it through the winter. He made it past hunting season because I found his tracks in the snow shed hunting. If he did make it he will be my main target this year. I have seen him once when I jumped him last year but he's got a track the size of a heffer there is not anyway of mistaking it.

North East just over the border from Binghamton.
