I would say no only because the right side of the rack would have shown some deformity from the injury. IMO

Oh yeah... because forgetting your release is much dumber then being up there with a hangover.

Prize For First Youth that Kills a Fall Bird
letinmfly replied to letinmfly's topic in Turkey Hunting
I'm hopeful and looking forward to having a winner this weekend!! Good luck!! -
Geno I don't own the land, I have permission to hunt it. Sorry for the confusion. I wish I could be out there but my work won't allow it this year...again!! Man I really miss being out there.

My buddy set up a trail cam by one of my stands in IL. Unfortunately I won't be headed out there this year but I wanted to share this pic with you guys. Sorry for the quality of the pic.

I know of two and they both located in Elmont.

I find no reason to have defend the fact that I hunt. Defense is for the guilty and I'm not guilty of doing anything wrong. I just ignore these misguided misfits cause I don't have time to waste my breath on them. Life is too short and I'm all for enjoying it.

As a supervisor at my job I don't answer texts or calls any longer. I used to do it but I wasn't getting paid for it. Until they start paying me for working off the clock, I'll keep on not answering them. As a matter of fact word came down from corporate that salaried manager's cannot text or call supervisor's when they are off. I stopped before it became company policy.

No. I got it. But I'm bored out of mind today.

I would ask him to show you proof that he has secured access to these private spots. Last thing you want is to be explaining to authorities what you're doing there. Just saying...

I'm going to give away a turkey call to the first youth hunter, between the age of 12-16, that kills a fall turkey, tom or hen, and posts the pic and story on this thread. I truly enjoyed doing the spring youth hunt contest and I can't wait till April to do it again. Good luck to all and be safe!!

I can...

Wooly in some cases it is the sound of a custom made call that makes it better. Most of the time it's the appeal of the custom wood turned and made call. This call, pictured below, sounds good and looks better then commercially made calls. It's louder then the commercially made calls and the internals flow smoother. In the case of grunt tubes the internal/reed are basically all the same. With that being said I prefer the sound of solid body, all wood, grunt calls then the ones with the plastic tube.

They didn't stop him because they didn't actually see him take anything, and by law they can't accuse him of stealing nor can they stop him from leaving. I know because I work for a big box store and unfortunately those are the rules. Yes...the rules suck!! The reason the manager didn't chase him is because if the kid was to get hit by a car running through the parking lot it would become a major law suit for the store and the manager.

You're absolutely right!! My friend's cousin, in IL, has a shed full of racks from legally taken bucks. One is a perfect 7x7 that could possibly be the world record typical if measured, but he doesn't care about records. He's just happy he's had the opportunity to have killed these deer strictly for the meat.

I believe the licenses are all the same. He'll have to follow the rules that are in place for ages 16+ as to taking of game. Once he turns 16 his "youth" privilege's end. I could be wrong. lol For instance he can hunt the youth deer season still and can take any deer. Once he turns 16, if you hunt in an area with AR he has to follow that same AR rule.

A target with beer/alcohol sponsors...that would go over as smooth as the Hindenburg here in NY!!

Lets see... 70 miles to his house, $0-250 ticket and an $85 surcharge. If it were me, he could keep the camera!!

Congrats!! Looks pretty darn good to me!!

That's me Paula. I take my nephew hunting and fishing, amongst other things. Hid dad is a piece of chit, to put it kindly.

This pic is of my nephew killing his first gobbler during the youth hunt in 2012. This was his first buck on opening day of 2012. Here's his 2013 spring bird. Here's another with his 2014 longbeard.

If you're paying for the service call then obviously no savings for you by turning it off. Give your tenant the bill to pay and see if he does it again. I don't use gas in my house for heat but I can't believe that keeping the pilot on can be that expensive of an endeavor. I use gas for my dryer and that costs me around $20 for the month.

Looks good!! Nice thing about Euro mounts is that they don't have to go on the wall. The look nice just about anywhere.
