  1. Opening day of turkey. Didn't see or hear a thing but only stayed a couple of hours got cold for sure. Only 7 trailers at the boat launch on opening day of walleye says it all here. My cam or card wasn't working so no pics. But clover and apple trees look good. And def found our spot for a ground blind for the fall. Good to be out.
  2. Congrats TF and mowin. Damn you guys do some business. This spot doesn't have a lot of turkey but all I need is one. Hen Anniston is deployed and fat guy is tucked in the brush.
  3. GF got me a thermacell for my b day last year and a heated vest for Xmas, didn't expect to use the heated vest first. Lol. Good luck everyone. Feels good being live from the woods again.
  4. That wire should just need to be slid back in there. I had that happen with that exact call. Unless more is broke of course ....
  5. Gobble gobble....... Good luck everyone.
  6. When did he stop though? Sure seems like it Biz. Hard to believe he is still there. Yeah the longer he goes the more people won't care.
  7. hmm the walleye opener isnt looking good. Def turkey hunting in the morn! https://sylvanbeachny.com/sylvan-beach-live-cams/
  8. Sorry to hear my friend that sure isnt easy. Sounds like some great memories and a great dog.
  9. I'm hoping for an update of 0% capacity seating for him soon.
  10. maybe we can form a support group and meet once a month at oh lets say .. bass pro. lol Please note this is not bass pro in the pic this is an area in the hunt/fish room.
  11. yeah i know but it breaks my rule of no mask weekends. Have to wear it all week at work - not wearing it on weekends. It just annoys me and i am stubborn is all.
  12. I've seen guys use ammo boxes or cheap plastic tool/fishing boxes (just take out little tray) and they keep there plastics in those and label the boxes and separate by type.
  13. Always wanted to try a 4 ring binder. Use a hole punch on the packages for two holes on on side of package. Then could keep two packs side by side in it and label the binders - worms, craws, trailers, senkos etc. Thought that might work. But then stopped fishing tourneys and also realized i prob have too much gear. Lol.
  14. Sounds good. We need to get you to Ray brothers BBQ sometime too. I haven't been out to dinner in a while. I refuse to wear a mask and go to dinner. It just bothers me.
  15. Those are nice. Last I tried ordering a couple and they were on backorder for like a year thru fish USA. Wanted them for my worm harnesses. Those you have there in the attached John look nice. Issue might be leaving them in the boat stuff gets hot and melts. Hate it when the collars on my spinnerbaits break down from the heat. I got so when I fished tourneys I just packed my tackle bag and gear for that location each time. Kinda a pain but actually worked out alright. Just always took and extra bag of each plastic I knew I would use the most. It was easier to plan since some places were all largemouth some small mouth, some weedy, some deep water etc. So I always had all my boxes and gear at home and just loaded up plastic boxes and tackle bags with gear needed.
  16. Certainly don't have to have one to get a turkey. So wind might only effect ability to hear one gobble or one sneaking in the leaves. A little wind usually also helps cover the hunters movement but I am guessing your prob using a blind. So I wouldn't think it would effect much. I haven't killed a ton of turkeys but wind moving my decoy has helped me before when they started to hang up and it moved in the wind a little that sealed it.
  17. The Franklin is prob my favorite restaurant. The greens are a must.
  18. awesome mounts! the pack one is a great idea! and love the mass oon that. Nice bucks Moog! Great job WNY!
  19. yes you do! I make my own. butter and onions and garlic in a pan Add in chunk chicken and i like to add in a little ground italian sweet sausage, fry up then add in a couple of diced cherry peppers (must be Cherry peppers! My personal favorite! lol) . Then stir together and add a can of diced tomatoes let it all simmer for a bit, add in a small container of heavy cream. Stir in with cooked rigatoni and cover in grated parm to serve. Some people add in mushrooms or olives - depends if you like those or not. Great dish!
  20. Happy Birthday @ApexerER. Hope its a great day!
  21. yeah Utica has some Old Italian food places that are great. We used to Politari Joes for lunch - little italian place - for sure not fancy - but great food.
