Caribou is the best I have had. Have heard fallow deer is top of the venison chain. After I watched the rabbit recipe I went out rabbit hunting it looked so good. Lol. I am amazed by his dogs too. He takes them out roe and fallow deer hunting with him and they sneak along quiet right next to him.

You talking about confit reminded me of his show where he was cooking rabbit from a confit. https://www.farmingthewild.com/rabbit-cubanos

Yeah that's the guy. He made a sandwich of crusty bread and rabbit that just looked so good. And usually makes a few different dishes out of the animal he takes. Fairly simple recipes and a lot made in cast iron. But they look so good.

Chef, ever see the show "Farming the wild"? Guy gets his own game and cooks it outdoors right there. Hes a chef in a wild game restaurant in Europe. The food he makes looks so good. One of my favorite outdoor shows. Except he is in love with lemon zest. Puts it on everything. Lol

Was up in the dacks fishing lake Durant with a buddy and saw a small loon along the edge of the water and it was struggling like it was stuck. I rowed into the shallows and my buddy in the bow of the boat says it looks like it's stuck on something. So I get us right up to it and he is reaching over to try and get it out. Then yells "whoa". And the loon takes off paddling and flapping. He reached down and put one hand on a rock, except it wasn't a rock it was a huge snapping turtle that had the loon by the leg.

GF made a killer blueberry cobbler with a lemon crunch top.

Smoked wild turkey breast. Marinaded in red wine and vinegar dressing. Then did a maple glaze on it.

Can I be that friend?? I'm gonna bow out of this craziness. See ya all on the fishing thread. A couple of folks here off the deep end. There are enough things to worry about. Good call TF

Umm several including family. I will leave you to your world that you can shoot and bury someone and the police won't mind. You obviously think you are above the laws so prob no getting thru there. Good luck.
-
What? Some dangerous thinking right there. I would say let me know how the police thank you after you shoot someone bury someone and then cover it up..... But I don't want you to waste your one phone call. That statement is ridiculous, it isn't the old west.

Corona Virus Thread

Right that's my thought is I have a hard time believing the flu numbers of that many per year dying from it when we are running out of PPE now across the country with such a lower amount of people infected in comparison. It must be in the curve of hitting so hard regional and quickly that it overwhelms the system right then. Where as flu is more established in multiple areas over a longer time. But as this continues the time is getting to be less of a difference and deaths still are so much lower than reported flu. Cuomo had a press release that in Feb 2020 that the flu rates were high as ever seen. Yet no trailers of morgues or lack of PPE. I am doubting the flu numbers at this point some or at least a comparison of covid to the flu. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.lohud.com/amp/4753341002 -
Great minds... I had venison burgers Tonite too, stacked onion rings on mine. Looks great

Yes it may hit that but hasn't come close yet and hospitals are overwhelmed. Just seems most are comparing it to the flu rate, then why so overwhelmed. It makes me feel like the flu numbers are incorrect. But looking at it I guess right now maybe cause it is so regional? And flu is seasonal. Usually Nov - April. Which is 6 months. Divide the.numbers for this at 2 months and it still doesn't mash up. Gotta be cause it's such a regional quick spread. -
Cabela's / BassPro going to crap
Robhuntandfish replied to UpStateRedNeck's topic in General Chit Chat
Have to say the bass pro in Utica is stacked with fishing lures. Rows and rows . Also lots of guns and bows etc. I don't buy much hunting clothing there as it's expensive. But still a good store that's worth the trip a couple of times a year for a 30 min drive for me. Bought my boat there as well at the tracker center. -

Here's what I can't get my head around. So the pics of the overwhelmed hospitals and trailers that are used as morgues..... Yet they say the regular flu kills far more people??? Then why is there so much obvious pressure on the entire medical community now? And why then isn't this a normal sight if the flu kills so many more. What am I missing? Are the regular flu numbers incorrect as the flu is mostly a seasonal issue so there isn't a spread of those numbers across the entire year. -
Took a long weekend fishing trip with some guys to black lake. My thumbs were raw by the time we left. Great spot.

Got out on the water with the new rig. Didn't really fish only about 15 minutes, but spent 2 hours going thru how to work everything and to put some break in time on the motor. Worked on Fish finder and trolling motor etc. Nice to be on the water and Think I got most of it figured out. Then some outside chores and I think the pup needs a nap.

Corona Virus Thread
Robhuntandfish replied to Al Bundy's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
It's the general idiots that they have to do these things for. People still going to Walmart just to get out and shop and paw thru the bins of $2 movies. We don't have a lot of stores around and everyone goes to Walmart. It's gonna be messy going there. I will avoid it at all costs. -

Just saw on local news Walmart is going to only allow so many people at a time. The rest have to wait outside and one goes in when one comes out. A Walmart trip just turned to a 3 hour tour. I will not go if I don't HAVE to. I did a supply run to the kwicky Mart in Sylvan beach when they opened this morn. Only one in store. I got what I just needed and got out. Will prob just rely on going there thru this as they have the basics. -
Happy birthday all damn day!
