  2. Been seeing turtles in the road everywhere today. Must be from all the high water? Keep and eye out they run right out in front of you! lol had a buddy that always used to get turtles and cook the meat. It was ok but nothing i want to wrestle a snapper for.

  13. Yup Oneida. I actually was on the north shore yesterday. Didn't fish by Godfrey though. Was gonna fish with some buddies today but got up and it's storming. Hoping in the least to sneak in a short turkey hunt if storm goes by soon.
  14. If you look at the ads on the side you would think they all think we are a bunch of horny old guys.....ads for sites with women over 40,50 and for boner pills. ....oh wait ...damn them we are! Lol

  16. A few panfish this morn. All walleyes too small. Didn't get out early and of course guys at launch I know got them on at first light and then nothing when the sun came up. But happy with some perch. Out fishing g with some buddies tomorrow.
  17. Nice bunch for sure. This hangs in my office as a warning. Lol. And I have 450 hours of sick time.
  18. its to each its own..... but it just cant understand how people think a crossbow isnt easier to hunt with than a bow. It almost seems like have they ever used one? It has the same capabilities as a 50 yard gun. I hunt from treestands mostly, but on the ground or from the stand you just look thru a scope and shoot. Bow has to be drawn and more movement can be seen, have to hold it and there are more targeting issues with a bow by far. Correct form, if shooting down bend the right way, right anchor point, no scope, etc. even with practice those variables are still there. I actually love the way the seasons are setup right now cause i like to hunt with everything bow, xbow, gun. To say the crossbow is heavy - mine weighs the same as my -06. both 7+lbs. I can shoot my xbow quarter groups at 50. My bow I limit to 45 and shoot 6" groups then and it would have to a perfect shot to even consider it. Ive killed with the crossbow from the ground and from a stand and have held it on a deer - last year - for a few minutes to get the right shot. I can have most anyone shooting bulls with my xbow in 3 shots or less - the compound takes a whole lot of practice. I would certainly like to see xbow open with a dr note though for those that cannot draw a bow. - which in itself proves it is easier to use. Hell there is even an academy in Western NY for bow practice, havent seen it open to crossbow yet. Lol
  19. that spot looks exactly like a spot i used to trout fish on the Independance river ! so for lunch i could take two cans of sardines and warm them up and maybe a bear will join me!
  20. I take ground venison meatloaf mix and roll into balls, cut an onion in half and peel off the matching halves to put around the meat. Then wrap in bacon and toothpick and put in the smoker. Glaze them for the last 1/2 hour with BBQ sauce , but this time gonna use mighty taco for a kick.
  21. Nursing it for the last weekend in May. Got a 5 day weekend. Got plans to make a smoked venison meatloaf or onion bacon bombs ....and mighty taco sauce is gonna be my secret ingredient.
  22. Nachos. With a little chorizo, olives, corn, cheese, salsa,
  23. Fished for a little while today. Water is so high everyone's dock is under water. Managed a few panfish. Lost one walleye. Still was a good day not at work.
