Quick morning on Oneida with Corey, storm knocked us off lake at 8:30.

Storm pushed us off the lake so breakfast it is. Onion, pepperoni, spinach, cheddar scramble and venison breakfast sausage.

Weather forecaster nailed it again. Afternoon storms. So afternoon is 8:30am? We got off the lake saw rain coming but didn't want to. Thunder and lightning by the time we got to the dock. Fishing buddy Corey caught most of these. He was killing it today. Walleye was in 8ft of water. Just a keeper but that's enough. Sure would've liked to stay out. Walleye tourney out there today too. But we got soaked and even if we got thru that the lightning is a no go.

Which one you going to? Original one is Syracuse is awesome.

My favorite knife is in this. It was my Dad's. And it's cleaned more trout than are in the beaverkill. Last time I wore it in the field was deer hunting in the dacks. I got back to the truck and the knife was gone. It fell out of the sheath and I had been still hunting in the snow. Figured it was gone forever. I start retracing my steps and I found it sticking straight up out of the snow with the point in the ground. Haven't taken it out since. Just keep it in my hunt and fish room.

Mmmmm. Made them in oven before. This was first time in smoker

Make a meatloaf mix of any burger. Cut onions in half and carefully peel the outer petals apart. Then you have two onion halves. Make meatloaf mix into a ball that you can fit the 2 matching onion petals around it like a shell. Then wrap a couple of pieces of bacon around it and toothpick to hold together. After cooked glaze with BBQ sauce and let cook another 10 minutes. Usually get two or three sets of onion petals out of one large onion. Then the rest I dice up and put into the meatloaf mix.

Couple of trips out on Oneida and been doing well. Finally getting into some eyes. Worm harnessesand slow troll mostly but bottom two on a stickbait casting in the canal. Getting some nicer ones, 20" is a solid eye in Oneida. Stocking the freezer.

Going in the smoker soon. Venison onion bacon bombs. Added in some TF mighty taco sauce and will glaze them with it when almost done. Been saving it for these.

Used to fish the Black River bay for walleyes and this time of year the gar would be stacked there in the shallows. Prob the spawn weird fish for sure. Black lake had a lot of them too.

Early this morn cold front was going thru and too windy for the lake so fished the canal. Managed two good ones, one short and lost another keeper and a couple of pickerel. Fun way to catch them on 6lb line throwing stickbaits. And broke in the new fish cleaning table and it's a winner! Think I might go get some new trolling motor batteries today and replace mine, they aren't lasting like they should.

Yes definitely. The height seems it's gonna be way better. My back will be thankful. The drain is small on this one so think I will put the fillets in there , hole is too small to get fish guys thru. But already have a bucket on a hanger next to it I put a grocery bag in and that works. And am hording Walmart bags while I can still get them..

Hoping tomorrow morn to try this out. GF got me a new fish cleaning table for my birthday. This is gonna work great.

I would certainly use the crossbow if it was allowed in all of bow. For me at least it's a better weapon and I really enjoy mine. It's one of my favorites to hunt with. I enjoy the bow and would still keep it and use it. But the crossbow would take most of it's time. So many people want to change the seasons all different ways. I enjoy all of them. But generally I would use the implement that has the best chance of taking a deer if given the choice and for me an Xbow is a click above the bow. Less variables. I have places I hunt that are bow only so having xbow gives me more of a choice. But no matter the season I will use what is determined. I just like them all. But once gun season opens I use that and don't go back to the bow. It would be the same for crossbow for me most of the time. The crossbow might be my favorite now. I've done very well with it.

Made Mac and cheese with little smokies in it and added in some Nundas horseradish/Caraway mustard and put it in the smoker. Yum.

Congrats TF and Biggamefish on the Turks! Jay you opened the season with a bang and closed it the same way! Good season. And it kinda went the right way. Got one early and then one late so you got to enjoy the whole season of hunting! Nice.

Good day on Oneida. Was off the water by 9 and didn't limit. But best eyes so far. Good ones for oneida 20".
