Just a weapon of choice in the thick stuff. No chance of anything over 50 yards. And I'm a shotgun guy.

I put this together for gun season for days I'm the push guy. Which almost every last weekend of gun it is me, Cause I've usually gotten a deer or two by then and I push for a couple of buddies and one of their boys. Hoping they get a deer. And where we hunt that means some real thick stuff. So this 12 with a little 2.5 scope out to fit the bill. Cause I might be the pusher but if a big boy jumps up doesn't mean I don't want to be able to get the drop on em!

The advantage isn't the speed. This is an old argument. It's the scope, accuracy and not having to draw. I have both and if I have to choose which is more effective it's the crossbow every time.

Your not making a difference by killing deer to save people's lives . It doesn't make a lick of sense. Bailing on this thread. Deer are not out to kill people it's a freak accident. If you think you can prevent freak accidents by killing animals ......yikes. People don't hunt deer cause they are a danger to humanity. Maybe you should go out west and kill some little grizzlies before they attack. .....this makes zero sense to me. Sorry to hear of the loss of this young person. But maybe you should look into banning 4 wheelers since they kill more people than deer. And like grumpy said cars......I teach the def driving class and the #1 cause of death for people under the age of 25 is motor vehicle accidents. Not random dumb deer.

No it doesn't. Deer aren't serial killers. Tragedy for sure but if you think your saving lives by killing a handful of deer your just thinking a little too hard here.

That's like saying you should cut down all little trees so that no big trees fall on people. Accidents happen. Shooting little bucks doesn't save people's lives.

The best hunting knife is one that has some meaning for me. Any knife will pretty much get the job done. But I carry a buck knife my brother gave me or the old sheath knife my Dad had. That knife has cleaned more trout than I can even imagine. I like it to be part of my good day when I get a deer. To pull out that old knife that was my Dad's.

I'm with ya ! Just cancelled my Monday and Tuesday off . Changed it for Wed , Thurs. Then have sat - Wed off next week. Too windy tomorrow to sit 20 feet up in the air for sure.

and a good turkey choke on shotgun sure helps

4,5,6 for turkey. But I use the 5's - middle of the road. I like federal turkey loads- 5's. Not too expensive but work well in my mossberg. Def try to shoot and see how the pattern is for your gun.

she is now down 2 deer, but there is season left. So I am def leading in deer but she still wins cause she's pretty! lol
