  1. Winchester? Never heard of them. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  2. In the cooler weather, I keep them to eat. Not when water temps are close to 80degrees because then hr Lakers die and get nasty on the stringer all morning. I don't bring a cooler, because its already a pain carrying oars, bait, equipment, etc to/from boat through the woods. I only have 1 fish mounted, a salmon from many years ago when I was kid from Lake Ontario, 36" Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  3. High Calorie protein bars, toilet paper, lots of water, etc. Also, I'd suggest you tell some people where and for how long you are going. If you break a leg or something and your several miles in, you might not make it out alive by yourself.
  4. Never had 1 stolen yet. Not sure if anyone has ever tried and read the note? However, this year I did get a picture of a guy walking towards the camera about 10 feet away and 2 minutes later a picture of the same guy's t-shirt in front of the camera. So for 2+ full minutes, he was right near the camera, maybe he saw the note? Not sure, but my glad my camera was still there. I then moved it.
  5. Nice ones. 3lbs. is a solid average. I caught 5 smallies yesterday on Kensico Reservoir, biggest was 17". Also got a few lakers, this one was 23"
  6. CT is very similar. Many bow-only public lands. Bow season is 9/16 - 12/31, you get 4 deer tags. 2 either sex, 2 anterless. If you gun hunt, you get another 2 (1 either sex, 1 anterless). Non-resident archey permit is like $150, if I remember correctly.
  7. I was just giving a heads up to potential buyers, that when NY allows xbows again, it might still be 200lb max. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. Nope. I always get 1 or 2 for 3N. I never use them. Always hope to see pieball doe or something. Never happens. Late in the season, I give them away on this site. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  9. 225lb ? NYS was 200lb max when they allowed xbows. Wonder if they will stick at 200lb max when they return? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  10. The first deer I see on every opening day, doe or buck, makes my heart feel like its beating through my chest. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  11. I have cameras on public land, the back of the cameras is a note "If you can read this, the camera has emailed me a picture of you already. Please put this camera back. Thank you." Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  12. +1 Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  13. Nice bucks. How do you zoom without losing clarity? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  14. As long as hes in the system, he's fine. The online system for hunting n fishing doesn't know when somebody moves. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  15. If does taste better than bucks, why shoot any bucks? You should just fawns, as they taste the best (deer-wise).
  16. I remember every buck I shoot. I stopped shooting does about 10 years ago, when I was able to start shooting bucks.
  17. Would be nice, but most lands around me prohibit them. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  18. I use an electric razor, so I am always scruffy. But I don't want a full blown beard. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  19. 9/16 in CT! I'm pumped, took that Monday off from work to hunt opening day of my first ever hunting season in CT. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Thanks. Yea, I never bought one because of all the stone walls I have to cross when dragging deer. Probably easier just sticking with a drag rope or by hand. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
  21. How does the cart work over logs n stonewalls? Also, steep hills does it tip? Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
