I don't think pattern matters much. I've had deer walk within feet of me while sitting on the ground and a wearing blaze orange coat. Having your outline broken up and not moving are more important.

Happy Birthday fellas! -
Back in July I was mowing lawn and bumped into hedges with mower. Went between hedges and house and turned around and walked into a swarm of wasps. Got stung 3 times on my face and I'm allergic. Of course I dont have my EpiPen. Right side of face swells up and eye starts to close. Take a couple benadryl and head to urgent care. They gave me the shot and I was fine other than a swollen eye. Waited a few days and just before dark hit the nest with a full can of wasp spray. No more wasps. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

I was at work on a conference call with an architect whose office was in the area between the WTC and Empire State Building. They told us plane flew into a building near their office and dropped off the call. We turned on the TV in the conference room just as the second plane hit and couldn't believe what we were watching. No work got done that day.

You made the right decision. 11 is real young to already have two concussions. Understandably it is tough for him now taking away something he loves doing but he will thank you later. You wrote earlier that he is a pretty good baseball player also. There is a lot of opportunity for fall baseball these days.

Congratulations! Picked a great spot to do it! Have a great time in Maine!

First time doing a pork shoulder 100% on the grill/smoker. Went on at 7:30 this morning. After 6 1/2 hours hit the stall at 150 degrees and wrapped it. Another 2 hours to get it to 200 degrees. Falling apart tender but some parts were a little dry. Pulled nice and was great with sauce added. No one complained. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

As others have said, enjoy the time, it flies by. My daughter's first day of kindergarten seemed like yesterday. She starts first day of middle school (5th grade) tomorrow.

Careful where you whack him. Skunks release all of their scent when they die.

Mixture of 1 quart hydrogen peroxide, 1 teaspoon dish soap and 1/4 cup baking soda will neutralize the smell. Had to use this a few weeks ago when we were dog sitting our neighbors dog and he got sprayed. It works.

Have to keep a look out for those. Other than a quick stop at a grocery store, didn't get any time for beer exploring this trip. Only up there for two days with another family and four kids ages 3 to 12. Bissell Bros brewery was only 15 miles north of where we were staying but couldn't get up there. Hotel beer from Maine before heading out for dinner. Been looking for Bissell Bros but haven't seen it yet. Beverage centers seem to be few and far between out here. Restaurant we are going to tonight is supposed to have on tap. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Ground blinds and still hunting. I guess if you have a cleared path into your treestand, maybe not as big of a deal later in the season.

I'd be looking for an old Fisher Papa Bear or Grandpa Bear. Not made anymore but you can find them for sale online. We had one in our house when I was a kid. Heated the whole house with it. In fact my parents still have it in their garage, not used for over 20 years...might be willing to part with it...
