How many remember? I lived 63 hours straight, of snow plowing with V plow 4 wd. trucks until they all failed.

The Blizzard of 77 is the last I remember very well. Today marks 30 years. Several feet of snow on the ground with 73 mph, wind gusts. Drifts up to 30 feet mixed with dirt. Oh yes, remember that very well.

I predict that Katy Perry will kiss a girl and like it, LOL.

Western Cutlery Company in Boulder Colorada. Most all BSA knives have Official Boy Scouts of America name and logo on one side. The other are stamped Western Boulder Colorado, made in USA. on the other. Overall 8.5 inches; blade length 4.5"; stacked leather handle ( # 1378). Brass bolster and guard. I have seen some scales with faux stag also. Edit: I understand BSA. is banning all fixed blade knives this year. -
How's The Storm Treating You???????????????
landtracdeerhunter replied to Lawdwaz's topic in General Chit Chat
Sometimes, these weather systems are hard to predict. Can be pretty isolated event. This winter tends to be, so far at least, moisture starved systems and a whole lot of cold. What the weather people call cold core storms. -
Yeah, congrats grow. Mine are growing so quickly. The oldest two talk all the time on the tractor rides. Oldest comes over all the time to make sure pa pa doing things right. He even help me spread the radish seed on and helped pull a nice doe in this past. Makes me feel all young again, watching all their spirit. I love'em.

I always liked the unique look of wood and antler. One of a kind. Soon you're be cutting blanks out of raw steel stock. forge that steel till it nonmagnetic, and sharpen and buff till they glow, LOL. . -
Noticed quite a few rabbit, on my shed hunting quest yesterday. Bunnies started to show about 9 ish when the sky clouded. Snow started to fall and the little buggers hid quickly.

Got out Sunday for about 5 hours journey. We have about 4 inches of crusty snow in the wood and thicket areas, which made it tough walking. I decided to hit the corn and soybean field edges. The excitement filled me to see a lot of deer tracks in areas where I found horn last year. My senses told me horn was there, but I believe snow is extending my find to a later date. I happen to look up into a nearby woods, where though and behold a buck I haven't seen since October 8th stared out of the edges. Still holding his crown, he stood with another, a one sided boy. This is the one that quest my thirst. A two years of shed history with this old boy. He went off, tail a waving. Did find a one wing pigeon hawk frozen stiff and shells from a lone rabbit hunter. No antlers today though, but gained some good info., for the coming months.

You have snow, LOL. Beautiful shed! Still smell the blood on that one. I'm still sniffing, LOL.

When you get a good pair of boots, let me know. I've been through most of the brands. Works boots I'm talking, not play toy ones. Finally got a pair of Mucks at L.L. Bean. Not that they last, but they warranty them.

See this morning, New England been accused of lowering the pressure in the footballs.

I like to support the dairy industry using butter. Taste better too. I also eat a lot of cheese, but that's for another topic, LOL.

Packing down trails

Traveled deer trails this A.M. shedding & Maple tapping. Got up close and personal with 9 of em, some good size ones too. They looked really good and fit. March, early April will tell the story though. -
I think it's the protein, LOL. I could agree with Doc, but you do have 3 different shots of her, all with the same marks.

Looked in good shape, now a pile of question. The other antler is a key piece in the puzzle. You're find it! I get a lump in my throat , and my heart sinks a little when I find deer like this. Finding a shed is a natural, but something bothers, when they lay, bones only knowing their fate.

Buffalo should of beat them in the Super Bowl. I'm still kinda stuck on that!

Any fellas here into good cigars
landtracdeerhunter replied to nyantler's topic in General Chit Chat
Neither, I follow them as kind of a hobby. Some of these boxes sell for over a thousand dollars. A good example of what can be done with a $5 fancy wooden cigar box, put the mind to it. -

If they stopped all Buck hunting.

Get 4 doe permits and fill them. Then we would see a huge decline in deer population. People would hear me across the state cussing , while dressing out those fatty doe, LOL. edit: Nextbook -
Their are several slap on the hands given out in Region 8., in all regions for that matter. Punishments to fit the crime are all to lack, but that's for that other thread. I see a lot of law enforcement on the west side of Region 8, especially in the state and federal preserve areas. They also stop several people. I personally been stopped twice, my son once during deer firearms season. Each time checking that all paperwork was in order. Even checking car inspections and registration. Nice conversation with them. Very nice ECO's, I might add. I commend them on their services. Their doing a very good job here. Region 8 doesn't get the high profile publishing that eastern regions receive, for some reason. I know the last list for Region 9 , which runs west into the town of Niagara and north to Lake Ontario, was back in 2010, that I can find anyways. It doesn't seem to get the published attention either.
