  1. The wildlife been kicking up here, after the snow melt and especially since some green up. The temps are better, mid April for turkey hunting. May warms up and can slow it all down. Talked to a lot of hunters that agree, turkey season should start in New York, mid April, just after the youth season, week before.
  2. This states actions never surprises me anymore.
  3. Sometimes a great find can be found at Antique Shops, Flea Markets, and Garage Sales. I found some great items along the way. Looks like you did too.
  4. I use one similar to it around the farm also. The only difference would be two different cutting angles on the one blade on mine. Tracker.
  5. In the real world, their really isn't anything free.
  6. Know one that I know has stopped eating beef even though some cattle test positive for mad cow disease. People have not stopped eating chicken just because of bird flu. The risk are real for all types of meat wild or other wise. I believe when business start penning these animals up in close quarters, thy lies the problem, and big trouble starts. Deer are free range, which in my boat, make them much safer.
  7. Plus two for Asian knife crafting. They make some of the most unusual looking knives. The lower knife incorporates a tanto style blade while supporting an aircraft opening sawtooth on the back of the blade. Something not seen often in the States.
  8. Number 3 for me. The match to number 1 find.
  9. Goes nicely with that natural wood back ground. Also like the deer sun catcher in the window.
  10. Winter was manageable in Niagara. We had some snow, cold, and wind. After the general storms came through that didn't generate much snow, only cold all season, the lake effect machine set up off lake Huron and Georgian bay out of Canada. Shoveled the driveway, pretty much to stay in practice. Maybe a few times with the tractor. Had to make way through a foot of snow in the woods to tap maple trees. Run started March 6th with about 4 inches left in the woods. Flow slowed to a trickle now. Snow melted quickly in time to find a few shed antlers. Large amount of deer on food sources, now. Robins, Red Wing Blackbird male and females, turkey vultures are all back. Winter losing it's grip, welcome Spring.
  11. Haven't seen any wearing antlers, but plenty eating.
  12. Seeing turkey tracks in the mud on my excursions. Scratching in the leaves.
  13. More weird stuff going on around your place.
  14. Why don't they just go down the hill?
  15. Must have little ripples go through it from time to time. One would assume no updating being done.
  16. Found my first one of the season this morning, walking in gathering maple sap.
  17. Mine plugged up with snow. I'll give them to fasteddie.
  18. Are a nice quiet breed. The other warrant mentioning, hens could fly like birds, given enough room for lift off. They would fly back to the corn field, pick up scraps from our harvested corn fields, then land on the peak of the barn roof as they come home. We clipped one wing feathers, to throw them off.
  19. I heard two toms up on the knoll raising all kinds of hell Monday. They was a battle going on. One had a bloody head, he chased the other into the brush. Been hearing gobbling, while working in the woods, the last week. Seems a little early.
  20. They raised all kinds of hell. Even the deer got out of dodge. I broke two up fighting Monday here, only to have them go into the brush after one another. One had a battle wound to his head. It's that time of year
  21. Years ago, I always raised a couple hundred Muscovy ducks for both egg and meat production. At the time they were the only duck on the market where the meat wasn't greasy. Egg production slowed in the late summer, even though I would pump the protein to them. Selling duck eggs were slow on the market; but the meat flew off the tables.
  22. Hope you bought all they had in stock at that price. . That's expensive paint.
