  1. Not normally from the ground.
  2. The roofs of many local barns have holes in their roof to attest to my marksmanship , or lack of when I was a young kid.. ;)..10 pumps would blast right through an old tin roof if you missed and went between the wood and right into the metal..lol.. I never did eat any.
  3. I hate being that guy too. You shouldn't let them dictate where you can hunt though.. You never know when they are going to be there. It looks like you guys will have the upper hand for afternoon/evening hunts..
  4. I concur.. it seems to draw the worst out of us. One of the largest and most well run forum I frequented shut down the political threads and was quite strict on insults etc.. sometimes not as fun, but eliminated much of the drama.
  5. Skillet.. The like is for the deer.. sorry about your family's loss.
  6. Nice area! You ever take the Tooley pond rd north? On a side note.. its a wonder the deer herd hasnt recovered in my area. 1/2 a dozen shots so far tonight and not a single ml among them..:(. They have to be driving because its an awfull lot of shooting
  7. Ha. Ha. . Deer! If I leave to hunting after 3 there is usually 1 or 2 doe in my yard feeding under the apple trees.. Tempting on lean years, but just doesnt seem very sporting.lol. One of these days.
  8. I've never hunted with a .243. I have helped drag a lot of deer out of the woods that a close friend shot with one .Seemed pretty effective. Most of the deer fell in their tracks or ran a very short distance..
  9. X2.. I started out shooting guns left handed in the 80s because I wasn't coordinated enough to close my left eye only. But with practice I was able too and will shoot left or right with a gun depending on what side the deer is on.. Not an option with a bow ..so I just stuck with right handed..
  10. Not really...As long as you have permission you can hunt from the kitchen table or haymow..
  11. On a serious note. There is plenty of hunting without going to the bottom.. our group has probably gotten as many 2-5 year old bucks within 300yds of the rd as we have down on the river bottoms.
  12. H.ha.ha.ha.lol.. it's easy going down ..up..not so much
  13. Give it a try. It's an easy hike to the bottom.
  14. Cool . I know Joe was in LE . Just took a guess..;) Same group of guys every year in the cabins. With a few new ones cycling through..
  15. You're not staying with Joe are you?
  16. Yes.. you can download and fill out the muzzleloader/archery permit.. not sure on the shotgun permit. It was limited to 500 but they did away with that. If you rent a cabin you automatically can recieve one either way..
  17. Nice! We will be in C cabins for 2 weeks starting 11/2.. I hardly can wait . I have been tempted to drive the 4hrs down and throw up a cell cam in the bow section(good signal).. the only problem is if a shooter keeps on walking by , I might have to quit my job..lol.;)
  18. This guy decided to guard it..;)
  19. I have a mock scrape , I set up a month 4-6 weeks ago..My 1st one.. I kept it simple.. Near a decent trail between bedding and feeding. Scraped the ground with a stick under an existing overhanging branch, peed in the scrape, set up trail camera. I have a regular flow of deer 4 or 5 different bucks and some does that visit it regularly.. Pretty good for the area it's in. Fairly average to low deer density..
  20. Dam!.. Did you watch me get dressed. ?
  21. Yes.. what he said.. As long as they can stand someone hunting in shorts..ha. ha. This is ridiculous..
  22. I dont like or agree with abortion at all, especially beyond a month or 2 .. I Do 100% believe though , that it's up to the woman..whether I like it or not..
