  1. A few deer on the camera now, since I moved it to a piece of state land near me.. a little foggy , but young guy passed by .
  2. The last few we built were $150-$200 /sqft. Including the foundation.
  3. Alright, alright! Team 3 it is..;)
  4. This reminds me of a story a farmer friend told me years ago.. Late 90s we actually were overrun with deer up here.. The DEC would give out fireworks , so you could scare the deer out of your fields.. He said it worked for the 1st week or so, then he was pretty sure they just invited their friends to watch the show.. There would be 50 deer lifting their head , watching the fireworks go off, then going back to eating .lol
  5. I like the predictions so far. I'm getting a minimum of 3 deer this year. In between naps in my treestand. ;).
  6. I would think .based on my observations, only 1 out of 500000 are stupid enough to shoot at movement in the woods.. only 1 out of a 100 can hit the broad side of a barn..Therefore you are safe..;) Just joking........mostly.lol
  7. Nice deer! Sucks that the biggest one is a 1/2 rack
  8. I take them as they come . I usually set up for a buck, but if presented with a good shot on a full size doe, and I'm not miles from the rd I will shoot.. That said, the 1st week I will stay closer to the rd so I can get some venison in the fridge early..
  9. What exactly do Kamala Harris's "positions and background check have to do with anything?. NOT cool. She is someone's daughter, sister, mother figure, etc.. Just me I guess ..I thought we were mostly adults.
  10. I just set mine up a couple days ago. Pictures are decent . It was very easy to set up. It's on a trail on our farm near the apples, so no deer yet but I've caught my brothers goats out.lol..
  11. The ultimate bass bait.. I havnt used them in years. We used to fish this tiny little lake out of a canoe and green grass frogs was the only thing the largemouth would hit. I still remember the poor frogs swimming across the surface headed for shore. Lol..Bass rarely took them off the top , but engulfed them the minute they dove..
  12. I'm getting buck fever, just thinking about it ..
  13. North of the Adks. As specific as I want to get until everything is settled.. .
  14. My thoughts were that most would prefer power and we would recoup our costs..
  15. We are getting closer to closing on a 100 acre piece of woods. A friend and I initially entered into this with ideas of keeping it and hunting it. After walking it we've decided to flip it instead. Our plan is to log it, create a few food plots and build a small camp.. currently the power doesnt run to the property. I expect it to cost 5-10,000 to get power. What do you think?
  16. Not sure if it's too late or not.. There is a trick to cleaning catfish.. Leave 1/8"-1/4" of meat/fat on the skin when you fillet it. Then remove that brown stripe that runs down the middle .. Bam! Delicious. Otherwise IMO not that good... In the past we caught a lot of catfish. We tried everything. Chowder, canning , milk , mayonaise,etc... none of it was great. Somebody showed us how to clean them and it was a game changer
  17. They are a little lighter and more compact...I have a loan wolf also, but it seems like I'm always grabbing or sitting in my summit. One of my Summits (not sure what model/it's older) folds flat so on a long hike I use that one now. The only time my lone wolf get used is if my others are all on trees..

I had a spot out in a swamp that I would never step foot in until 11/10 . Nobody else hunted it at the time(water too deep) . I shot a nice buck there every time for 6 years in a row(probably less than 10hrs of hunting) until others discovered where I was hunting and started hunting it earlier and it stopped producing. I swore the same doe would drag the buck by my stand every year just to get him off her back...lol.im not sure what the reason was but nov 10 is definitely my favorite.
  19. I believe you are. But they need to be removed so many days after the season?
  20. I still will leave them for weeks at a time in remote locations..
