  1. Yep had one a 71 bombardier
  2. I think it would have a big impact, if 1 nursery ow or removes 12 a year on his own now with nuisance permit, and they re looking to remove 100 or so. A doe 1st or 2 doe before antlered , guys would be killing them , and allow baiting definitely would be effective ( I am also thinking x bow use) Compare 1 or 2 baited site with sharp shooters vs 30 or 40 baited sites with 50 or more participants and deer would be killed. As after sharpshooters start killing over bait deer become skittish, spreading that out over more sites and take would increase. Corning elmira area allows a special archery hunt and it's been effective, much mor Ethan the bait a d shoot program was previously
  3. Survey on how to control deer herd in west seneca.. now is chance to perhaps get permit archery hunting there vs ,paid sharpshooters and baiting at taxpayer expense http://www.westseneca.net/news-and-events/community-interests/public-surveys#gsc.tab=0
  4. Yes if air flow blocked to carb it will die with choke off may have a seal over new carb air I take that was left on or air inflow to box is blocked by debris.
  5. Maybe but no engine has a direct air flow to carb ( it would suck up snow or water or ice) ,there is an air box or combo with filter, with choke on hes running pure gas , when releasing choke less gas is used as it mixes with air. If it cant get air to vaporize gas it won't run. Will simply stall out. If air way is restricted it wont run off choke.
  6. Has to have air cleaner box or filter. If it's missing it's your problem.
  7. Few years ago there were 7 at the bottom of 219 bridge over catt creek must of been startled and jumped off bridge, was long way down. Smell was atrocious. Been there awhile
  8. Air filter, Fuel filter , low idle adjustment. My best guess.. If sat out air filter could be plugged from mice. Cant get air and is running rich on full choke, dies when looking to pull more air in. As its unavailable
  9. If kept by you doenst seem to effect deer, Turkey on the other hand will not stand for intrusion and will vacate the area. Neighbor always had Turkey roost on his ridge in spring and would remain thru season. New neighbor started walking her dog in the mornings as weather got nice in april, birds left and didnt come back till after we found out what was going on. We both do not allow atvs or walking around from april 1st till after may 31st and from sept 1 thru end of season in dec. Many camps up the street set stands and ride atvs right before season and deer dissappear on them. Let alone truck doors slamming and wood fires burning after being quiet for months.. may not effect young game but older move to safe areas quickly in my experiance, and thus the reason I say sanctuaries are more important than food plots.
  10. It's not that they have to put on their property just buy it like you would a hunt and then claim you shot it wherever with your current tag on it.... enough deer escape and I remember a game farm trying to get deer back and some woman shot it in a southern state a few miles from where it escaped. Never did find out if she had to pay them for killing livestock..
  11. Nice to see the process underway
  12. There are cases of people going to another state hunting a game farm.athen bring deer back and switching tags, buying deer from locals and clai.ing as their own.. I remember 1 story guy use to go the adirondacks hunting and every year he came home on train with big buck. One year he was I'll and didnt go but his big buck came back via train with his name on it.. so. Yes it's been going on for a long time
  13. damn bear got my blind and then posed for photo.the drop I got from another angle
  14. Going through an old pc and found some old trail cam photos I really like.love the chick standing on her back.I did kill this droptine in 2010, but he snapped half it off and his 11 pt as well..
  15. Centerpoint , whisper 380 or tormentor 390 best value out there , accurate a d inexpensive and great warrenty and customer service
  16. I happend to sign on from another device and the home page is very dated, I know its last stuff he wrote but I feel the dates alone will keep the sire from being looked at . 2016 and 2019? Really ,perhaps a new updated lead story at least ,most newer member do not even know who burmjohn is. If we want to attract new members and participants an update should be made , I'd make a poll about it but this is far outside of my skilset.
  17. My sanctuary is marked by a perimeter road. And I'm not worried about deer knowing where it is as they find it easily and tend to stay in it. But the roadway is nice for the hunters to know where it is and not stray into it.
  18. Deer really crawling under the tops now.
  19. Congrats! You will find more to do and be busy more than when you were working full time. , enjoy it try it with out a parttime job or one you can do minimal hours at.. 20. Fortunately my friend bought a mill so some beer and some lumber swap
  21. Decided I need to build a new barn. Lucky i have a snice stand of Norway spruce and white pine. Tall trees with no. Thermal cover properties, leaving the tops and piling few limbs need to remove, see have started bedding under and against the tops in a couple of days. Lots of young seedings been starving for light . Averaging 5 10ft logs out of a tree, most average 20 in and a few are pushing 32. . Board and batton to be cut and dried hopeful for construction this summer and truss/ lumber prices drop a bit today's work this load already left for millworking on this load ,about 10 more logs to skid out Snow has been kind of a pain for dragging logs out but nearly done. Im.sure the rabbits will enjoy the limb piles as well
