  1. Oak leaf galls made by an insect when you find the grub inside they make excellent bait for fishing
  2. I think tabs always give better release than a glove , to much feel when I used glove ,with tab open fingers and it's gone.. made my.own from cowhide .
  3. I agree in a blind they are great, but in a stand they get.me worried as limbs can hit tree trunks, and I cant hug a tree and shoot right along side it.
  4. 5 now , the man will never resign, need to impeach or have a recall vote...
  5. So it comes down to you dont want more hunters after your deer. It's simple to say , ove watched compounds become legal to the horror of traditionalists, then the argument on let off allowed, the use of a trigger ( release) the use of brass pins to fiberoptic, to lighted. They all have come to be and the sport continues on with the changes if you use any if these improvements and are against crossbow then you simply just dont want competition, Almost everyone I know that uses a crossbow has shot a compound for years. The skill need to get into range and effectively take game consistant is what matters. If you cant take deer with a gun a crossbow will not help. Believe it a lot will give up quickly as the long shots will deflect or deer duck arrow. Its happens now 600k hunters and take is under 200 k. And we all know that so many hunters take 2 buck or multiple deer across seasons the number of successful hunters then becomes even less. A crossbow will not make someone a better hunter .
  6. You should be able to get center point of impact using 2 3/4 field loads, as that is barrel poa. The pattern you get from other shells will be different , once you get it sighted in then you can try other size and manufactures shells, you may find you gun prefer 2 3/4 over 3 in. And 4 shot over 5 or 6. It's all in what your gun likes paying big bucks for a shell may not get you a better pattern than a cheaper shell it just cost more.
  7. I have had mine on my mossberg 835 and browning bps for turkey for decades now, need to replace battery every so often but with today's extremely tight groups you need an accurate aiming point , it's nice they have no parallax, where the dot is is the center of your pattern, simply use a couple of light loads at under 20 yards to boresite it in and then go back to expected range and dial it in.
  8. Done , I like my compound but have a couple of older hunters that cant draw bow back well anymore , miss having them in camp for whole archery season. Anything that let's them hunt more in better weather has got my.support
  9. Seasonal road , access issues is it actually a road or row? Around here that price is high ,but it all depends where it is what timber looks like if mature you maybe able to recoup a large.portion of what you spend.
  10. Tens of thousands of photos a year.. wish I was more organized, could do top 100 from.every year if I was.. lol
  11. They are all owned by velocity outdoors, they just acquired ravin crossbow as well.
  12. 2 years ago I won a centerpoint whisper 380 , I don't use it much as I have a mbx 400. But I noticed a limb starting to delaminat. Contacted them in nov and limbs are warranted for 5 years. bUt I needed to take it to centerpoint dealer or ship top end back to them for repair. Well I just got around to taking it apart and needed shipping label to send back as no local dealer . And WOW!!!! centerpoint and ravin are same company now, called today for shipping label address and they said they will just send whole new top end of x bow. Complete with strings and silencers and to keep old one. I'll take old apart.and keep strings cables cams and other parts. Great customer service!!!
  13. If that's the case overseed with winter rye, clover will come back and wr will release some pressure on clover in plot
  14. Most bulbs are eaten after season. No matter the variety, tops are eaten 1st, radish in october and turnip seem to be later in nov. Here. Another good planting would be winter rye for in season attraction
  15. If it is a small plot honestly you cant beat clover. Deer still digging thru 20 in of snow to get to it.
  16. An Interesting read and how antler restriction remove the best, perhaps slot limits on age classes would work better https://www.deerassociation.com/4-lessons-about-antlers-and-deer-age-from-a-simple-chart/
  17. Try handcockseed.com or harrisseed.com if you want specific seed. Best if you can buy bulk and split with others. Always follow recommended seeding rates. And to ensure proper planting cover area you want to plant with half the amount called for 1st( this may include very fast walking or super slow seed opening. ) then cover again from different direction using other half . After you do. This a few times you'll learn what setting to use on your seeder. I always walk when seeding brassica seed. As machines tend to send to much. A good earthway seeing bag is a must imo.
  18. Lot of stateland to explore, with the exception of opening day or phesant release sites if found most public land devoid of hunters especially off main access roads. I enjoy a walk thru local state lands for fall Turkey and never see another hunter.
  19. Radish is a better in season draw in my experiance , purple top is next. Followed by appin. The whole planting brassica Is less is more , they will look scattered and like you missed whole areas till the tops fill out. You can mix yourself . But radish seed is much larger than radish, so use half suggested rate for area and seed one and then do same with other seed .
  20. Can take his emergency power but he wont resign, be months before investigation, he said " I'm not resigning, the people elected me no the politicians "
  21. Vote isnt till fri or monday as all Bill's are supposed to be on floor for 3 days
  22. Easiest way to get old snowblower or any old carb to run with gummed up carb is toss it in pot of boiling water with dawn dish detergent, dont touch settings , shake out water and put gas in it and shake out a few times, works well. If you already took carb apart then this is a no go.
