Dont always think it's a hunter, had a owl hooter set.off a gobbler I was sitting under, he gobbled everytime and the guy kept.closing 100 yards and hooting, got to 200 yards and then closed to 50 yards and hooted , so I yelled to protect myself" hey get out of here!!" Quiet for 10 min then 50 yards off to my.left hooting again, bird 30 yards in front of me is going nuts!! So I picked up a crow call and just blew on it as hard as I could to let the guy know I was there.. and low and behold a barred owl flys up a d lands 10 ft.from me and hoots.. Quite embarrassing trying to get an owl to leave I thought for sure was a hunter running the ridge....

1st is it goes in archery all season you need an archery course, many are just to lazy to take it,unlike now classifying as a gun . The main thing is you still need to get in range of a deer with a crossbow, many who pick up crossbow and see deer duck arrows and arrows deflect off unseen limbs ,give up.. getting a crossbow doesnt mean they will kill a deer with it or even see one to shoot at. A crossbow doenst improve your hunting / scouting / set up skills.

Wonder where everyone stands on legalization of spear for deer I'd really like to use one and since it's so hard perhaps the season. Can be exclusive spear only for entire month of November, as I will need a dumb deer to throw a spear at, and rut seems best time to hold it. I'm sure you gun hunters and archers and crossbow users will understand as this will be a difficult harvest and I'll need the entire woods to myself as not to spook game and further cant take the chance that you may accidentally kill the dumb deer that I had picked out..... thanks in advance for your support!

Well you best tell my sister in law that any one can hit a pie plate at 100 yards cause she cant hit one at 30yards with a gun.. Heck I saw a man with a stick bow shoot 3 arrows at a deer and hit it each time in less than 5 seconds.all we good shots, I'd bet most would be putting the rope cocker on an x bow if they got it out of their pocket that fast.. and deer would be out of range. Shooting targets is completely differnt than shooting at game no matter the temp or weather they dont move!! I've seen Olympic archers that cant hit a deer broadside at 30 yards..

Mine is 690 ft long, I plow it . The key is plow it before you drive on it with out using skid plates bottom of plow. and buy a York rake to bring stone back into it in spring. 27 years and only issue I had was on year it was driven on multiple times and packed so it turns to ice. Did that one year.. never again. I simply get up and plow when it needs to be.

Suckering is more vigorous in winter and fall than spring and summer ,just make sure you cut the stumps low as possible across root flare/swell
