Not a fan of needles

My buddy had one on order ,was supposed to be in this month ,just got pushed back 4 or so months I guess .another friend has one ,has worked great with no issue .Yamaha or Honda can’t be beat imo. Understandable,take the good with the bad ,you won’t be in the shop getting things fixed constantly though lol .

I’d go Honda ,but what do I know LOL.

No biggie ,I’d say it was a slight angle ,happened quick .now if he came out feeding and turned broadside ,I’d go for lung .That’s all I had at the time was neck

No .it was in my burn pile ground blind.It works great as it’s there year round .in the pic it’s that big round brush pile ,where the red mark is a doe ran out ,I shot her ,then a minute later the buck chasing her came running out and at the split second I had ,I went for the neck as he was running head on almost at me and he dropped .That spot has killed many deer for me .

Never knew one person to duck hunt unfortunately.Years past I’ve had permission to hunt some beaver ponds but never took up the offer .

Neck shots work well when you’re bordering property lines

Under 75 yards ,how can a guy miss a neck with a rifle and expensive scope ?the target is the same size looking through a scope in the crosshair.

Chopped the tip of my finger off right before trapping/hunting season 14 years ago ,I’m a bit addicted to both so I managed ,but very painful .

One thing I’ve not done yet is duck hunt .looks like fun

Deff like the over all cleanliness of a neck shot .The 3” copper sabots I use are ruthless on a body shot .

I’ll be honest ,I don’t care how old anything is ,it’s dead now so it won’t be getting any older .not knocking ya at all ,who cares what anyone thinks it’s age is .You’re happy ,and that’s what matters . One thing I notice on these forums and Facebook ,everyone seems to worry what people are going to think about THEIR deer .I’d be off these forums way before I’ll ever care .

Id have that lost instantly if I did have one lol .In 25 years I have killed a lot of things with connis,knock on wood I have not got myself yet with a 330.I have with a 160 though . to answer your ?,yes they work in 330s.careful with the belisles,they are nasty .

I’ll go for a broadside shot every time if the situation warrants it ,sometimes that’s not an option though .I’m saying,if that’s all I have ,I’ll take the shot and feel comfortable .Every neck shot I’ve taken,they dropped dead .

I’d say you make the judgement ,if you feel comfortable with it then do it .I don’t agree with the disrespectful aspect of it .how many deer are hit broadside and injured and lost ? I’ve never had a deer move after a neck shot .Never injured any either .

Nothing seen .Have five days off Starting next Friday, should have more meat in the freezer then .

My luck is usually good when I hunt for an hour ,anything longer my luck is non existent . Pretty basic type hunt .Walked in confident I’ll be walking out with a doe as I see plenty in the apples around 4:20 typically in this spot .Seen plenty of smaller bucks as well .Haven’t had any nice bucks all season in this spot on cam so they didn’t cross my mind but ya never know what could happen. Got settled in around 3:40 or so ,after deep frying some turkeys with my buddy .I told him I’m walking out with a deer tonight as it just “felt right”.It was a light mist ,light wind (SW),and dreary feeling .Knowing my scent was blowing in the SW direction ,I wasn’t confident anything would come out in that corner ,but I got up as high as I could (for me) ya never know right ?At around 4:13 pm I spotted this guy coming through the thick stuff slowly ,I had one window of opportunity that I knew of to get a shot at it .It was still threading the needle on the shot but that Savage 220 with the scope I have it could be done . There wasn’t much time or room to wait for him to turn broadside ,he got to the spot I need him to ,he put his head down to feed on an apple ,facing toward me ,and put the cross hair on top between his shoulders and let it fly .He dropped instantly .I could see his back end ,I sat and waited to maybe score a doe .Minutes gone by and I looked and all the sudden didn’t see him .I was like wtf .Next thing I know he got to his feet ,ran maybe 5 yards and dropped dead . Being as I had to head to dinner at 5 ,I got down and walked up to my friends house to grab the wheeler .I then found out ,his sister and friend who is in town ,took the dog for a walk right to the edge of the orchard ,after they were told I was in there .It was maybe 5 minutes after I shot they walked up with the dog .I wasn’t happy about that as they came within 50 yards of me in the stand .She’s and animal activist so I’m not surprised.Anyway ,here he is ,looks like I may just do a euro mount .(the buck is tagged )Also,the rope was wrapped around him already the way you see it .
