  1. As usual, your cluelessness is astounding.
  2. My neighbors are black. Up until about a week ago, they had no children. Then, I started seeing these two blonde girls, roughly 15 years old, coming out of their home. They were always with my neighbors, who wouldn't let the girls out of their sight. They were wholesome looking girls. I just figured they were housing them for some program. Then I bumped into my neighbor, while I was on neighborhood watch. After I put my gun away, and let him up off the ground, I asked him about the girls. Turns out, Obama gave them to him for his vote. I found out that Obama has been promising white teenage girls to blacks that vote for him. Where is the media on this story? And it's 100% true!
  3. Maybe the guy works 2 full time minimum wage jobs to support a stay at home mom after his good paying job was "offshored". After all, day care for all those kids would cost more than she could make working full time minimum wage. Would you still deny him the right to to buy beer with his hard earned cash? Those $$$ spent as SNAP generate $1.73 in economic stimulus for every $1.00. By contrast, extending the Bush tax cuts would only generate 29¢ on every $1.00. Those SNAP benefits help the local grocer, farmers, etc. Tax cuts for the wealthy end up in offshore accounts or other "tax sheltered" schemes in most cases. The Reagan fantasy of the rich creating jobs (in America) is a fairy tale. It doesn't happen in today's "global" economy. Would wages spent on food generate more than SNAP due to reduced taxes on the working class? Absolutely!
  4. I never took a hunter safety course when I moved to NY State. I used my Indiana hunting license as proof. I never attended a hunter safety course in Indiana either. I "grandfathered" in. I believe a lot of states use your birth date to determine the requirement.
  5. As a teenager with only one shotgun that had to serve every purpose from rabbits, to waterfowl, I lusted after a polychoke.
  6. What would "big box" workers, "Walmart" fast find workers, and (many) military families do W/O SNAP benefits? We now have a whole industry of corporations that use SNAP & Medicaid as a supplement to their employees incone thereby collecting those benefits by proxy. Walmart includes sessions on applying for SNAP & Medicaide in their orientation. In 1991, when I hired on @ GM, they were the largest private sector employer in the USA. Now it's Walmart so please spare me the drivel that they should find more gainful employment. There aren't enough jobs that pay a living wage to go around any more.
  7. Can one still participate in the hunt (calling turkeys) after his/her tags are filled? I believe you can still "drive" deer after you tag out as long as you don't carry a firearm.
  8. Reagan started stealing it to cover his tax cuts.

  10. My brother bought me a Sears 16 ga pump. It was my 1st gun & yes, it was a High Standard. Not all Sears guns were J. C. Higgins.
  11. The more good paying jobs we send to 3rd world countries that are replaced by minimum wage jobs, the sooner we will see that.
  12. Button bucks in the fall are about the dumbest thing there is on 4 legs.
  13. I once had an a$$wipe stalk a bird that I had called from over 1/4 mile. He was hung up so close I could hear his feathers shake when he gobbled, but I was in the woods & there we some ground cover so I couldn't see him.I quit calling & after a bit I heard him gobble farther down in the valley. I got up & quickly walked about 15 yds to where I he had hung up. I heard rustling in the leaves & some youngster scurried up, got on his knees & started calling right there in front of me.
  14. Started Watermelon & cantaloupe today. 11 peat pellets planted with Harvest Moon Seedless Watermelon (icebox variety) 25 peat pellets planted with Crimson Sweet Watermelon 15 peat pellets planted with Burpee Hybrid Cantaloupe 15 peat pellets planted with Burpee Ambrisia Hybrid Cataloupe I recycled pellet from the failed broccolli & jalapeño planting.
  15. An unborn child seems to have more rights than a living one. At least conservatives are a lot more concerned with the child being born than feeding it or providing healthcare after it is.
  16. That's why I reload as much as I can. When I do buy factory ammo, I buy Federal. I figure since that's all they make, they will be more quality conscious. I recently ran some Federal "Fusion" 7mm-08 ammo over my chronograph & I was impressed W/the extremely consistent MV. For .22rf, I buy CCI standard velocity LR. I also use CCI primers and I don't use any Wichester/Remington components except for 30/40 Krag brass which is Winchester. I don't have much choice in the Krag brass, it's either Winchester or Remington.
  17. Yes, you are absolutely correct. The point is, the Turks can make high quality guns. It is the low level of quality that American corporations are willing to accept from Eastern European contractors in the name of increased profit margins that is dismal. I have seen & handled the various Baikals and they are absolutely horrible. The Russian made Steven S/S that was marketed a few years back was a POS too. Winchester should have had a closer watch on things. For that sort of defect to slip by is inexcusable & in my opinion, it reflects even more poorly on the Amercan Winchester management than the actual manufacturer. Take bicycles for example. With very few exceptions, they are all made in China. There is a huge quality gap between Chinese made bicycles W/Specialized, Trek, Fugi or other top names and those of the various big box brands. I'm not condoning offshore manufacturing, rather condemning Amercan corporate mentality that is willing to sacrifice quality of those offshore products to increase profits.
  18. CZ-USA as well Dehann imports O/U and S/S shotguns that are made by Huglu in Turkey. The Turkish are making fine quality firearms WHEN the contracting company demands it. It's the same same old American corporate culture. Poor leadership from the top trickles down to poor products for the consumer.
  19. http://concealednation.org/2015/04/video-gun-safety-101-treat-every-firearm-as-if-it-will-malfunction/ If the striker is still cocked (as indicated by the trigger pull/striker fall after the discharge on closing) that means that the firing pin must be jammed forward, protruding from the bolt. The bolt is functioning like that of a Thompsom sub-machine gun or a BAR, firing on closing. I wonder what would happen if the slide was closed slowly? Can you imagine a semi-auto with that defect? Hit the button to close the bolt & it would full auto until the magazine was empty. Since pumps & autos usually share most of the action parts within a manufacturer, bolts, trigger groups, etc, that would be quite plausible. SCAREY!
  20. What amazes me is how little we knew about deer in the '60s & '70s.
  21. Gobbling is one of the most effective calls for mature toms. It is discouraged due to safety concerns, especially on public land. Hunters "stalking" the sound being paramount to those concerns. I once called in a whole flock of about a dozen jakes with a gobble on my own property. I was set up in a brush covered rock pile in a meadow, so safety wasn't a concern.
  22. It is the same thing. I just talked to Dead Ringer & their seat is licensed from Fanatic Outdoors.Price is the same as Fanatic Outdoirs if you buy direct from Dead Ringer
  23. One may be "intercepting" a bird coming into another hunter's call.
  24. Well, curiosity got the best if me so I called the number for Fanatic Outdoors to ask a few questions. While the "Hammock Seat" listed on the Amazon link above I rated for 225#, the genuine Hammock Seat from Fanatic Outdoors is rated for 350# & the guy on the phone said there are some LARGE individuals over 400# using his seats. The Fanatuc Outdoors Hammock Seat also has a lifetime garantee. If anything breaks, send it back for a new one. Looks to me like spending the extra $$$ over the Amazon version is worth it. Mine is going out today so I will post a report when it arrives.
