  1. I wonder how it compares to the Fanatic Outdoors seat.
  2. Because people are hoarding ammunition.
  3. That's exactly why I have a hard time getting reloading components.
  4. I got a confirmation e-mail from Fanatic Outdoors yesterday @ 5:24 PM that said my Hammock Seat would ship out ASAP. The ASAP was a bit disconcerting so I replied asking just what ASAP meant. I got a reply @ 5:55 informing me that it will ship out Priority Mail Monday morning. I'm impressed W/the quick response, especially considering the fact that it was a Sunday.
  5. Feeling under the weather lately Eddie? Maybe those birds know something you don't!
  6. Yeah it will definitely get use during deer season, but I'm getting too old to do the base of the tree sit for turkey. This will allow me to get maybe a foot or so off the ground. That will make it a LOT easier for me to get my fat arse up when it's time.
  7. Gotta love the J-3. The Chevy Bicayne of the air. No frills, just cheap, reliable function.
  8. I've been lusting after one of these since someone posted a thread about them last fall. http://www.fanaticoutdoors.com I'm too old & "girthsome" to sit on the ground for turkey hunting. I also like a seat that sets up quickly for hunting deer on the ground. Having a comfortable seat that sets up quickly makes it easy to stay put when I find hot sign while still hunting.
  9. A 540gr arrow with a properly sharpened Bear Razohead will slice through a deer @ 25 yds like a hot knife through butter when the arrow leaves the bow @ 190 fps. Kinetic energy @ the bow does not equal penetration @ impact yardage. The heavier arrow will retain more energy as the distance increases.
  10. Quit calling for starters. If you use turkey sounds, you will educate the birds. Use an owl hooter when it starts to get dark.
  11. Actually the "Nuge" isn't a stoner, druggie or juicer. Those facts clearly point to mental illness.
  12. I use the nearest tree of sapling. Works great & I don't have to lug it around.
  13. The "government" is the taxpayer. Why should everyone pay for a background check through taxes? FYI, voter ID cards are not "free". Many states are requiring significant fees for the voter ID.
  14. I have been in "phase 2" for several days. Moving the trays to the south facing enclosed back porch, bringing thenm in to the heated rack at night. Germination of individual peat pellet (some of which have 2-3 seeds in each) is as follows. Steakhouse tomato-----------------------------------13 of 14 pellets have plants sprouting * Beefmaster tomato------------------------------------13 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting Park's Whopper tomato------------------------------15 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting Super Sweet 100 Hybrid Cherry Tomato--------15 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting California Wonder green sweet pepper-----------11 of 19 pellets have plants sprouting* Big Bertha giant green sweet pepper---------------4 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting Karma red sweet pepper-------------------------------7 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting Nikita orange sweet pepper----------------------------3 of 15 pellets have plants sprouting Early Jalapeño Hybrid pepper-------------------------100% germination failure! Sun King broccolli-------------------------------------------3 of 44 pellets have plants sprouting* * Odd number of pellets due to pet "curiosity" attrition. At 1st I thought it was the cat, but I found long thin white hairs in the last tray that was raided leading me to believe it was Max, my Brittany that was the culprit. I have since left the covers on while the trays were in the low heated shelf. The dismal results of the broccoli are probably due to using heat as "growalot" suggested. I will replant the pellets today, including the 3 that sprouted as they don't seem very vigorous. I'll leave then on the porch on the lowest rack that will be out of direct sunlight. Not sure why the Jalapeños failed to germinate. I'm thinking bad seed.
  15. The original post was pertaining to FEDERAL law, not SAFE act. Yes handguns require FFL shipping on both ends. FFL In either case is only USPS requirement, not Federal law pertaining to the sale. I can go to any LGS & get the transfer for $20 on my end. FYI, New York's hand gun laws were screwed up long before Cuomo got elected. I won't get a pistol permit because of the NYS law as it even existed when I moved here in 1998. My unlimited carry permit for Indiana, which is required to be issued if there are no felony convictions/mental health issues, was not weapon specific, nor was I required to register a handgun to get the permit or carry. Furthermore, I was not required to have a permit for a handgun in my home, or to transport it from point of sale to my home.
  16. If you have a CC permit you don't have to go through background checks by Federal law do you? The CC permit is your background check. Background checks for ammo are stupid, but I cited firearm sales didn't I? Typical conservative tactic. Cite situation irrelevant to the original post. If you are paying $45 for FFL you are being screwed. The going rate was $20 on all of my internet purchase/sales transfers. You are not required by law to ship through an FFL, just on the receiving end. Some dealers want FFL on both ends, that is their call & I won't deal with them.
  17. Every gun that I have purchased or sold in the lat 16 years, including several via the Internet, has be through an FFL and there was a background check involved. Why shouldn't anyone purchasing a firearm have to do the same?
  18. I am constantly persued by Victoria's Secret models. It's horrible!
  19. They certainly don't make 'em like that any more. Cast iron 4-speed manual transaxle, 18 HP opposed flathead twin Briggs. Simple idler pulley "clutch" on the transaxle drive belt. I bought the tractor used to mow my 2 1/2 acres in Indiana about 1991 or so. I bought the tiller a few weeks later later for $600. It had never been in the ground. That was 1/2 price of what it cost new. I left a single bottom plow, a small disc & a catagiry 0 three point hitch behind. I kick myself for that now. The tires are filled W/ethylene glycol & there are 25# weights on both rear wheels. I have since taken the wheel weights off as I no longer plow. It worked great for retrieving deer from the woods.
  20. Here is my main tiller set-up. I have a smaller walk behind Areins for cultivating. Here is a short video clip of it breaking sod when I expanded the garden in the spring of 2013. That's my son in the seat. He loves operating the old Gilson. http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j31/PowerWagon896/Gilson/th_012_zpsd4be6912.mp4
  21. My property shows evidence of glaciers. There's a glacial erratic the size if a minivan in the creek bed next to the garden. Last year, my 42" tiller managed to pick up some rocks just the right size to wedge between the tines & cast iron chain case breaking off 3 tines. I've used that tiller off & on for the last 25 years & that's the 1st time that's happened.
  22. I dug one up out of my garden last year that was so BIG, it took 2 of us to load it into the wheelbarrow.
  23. 304,000 is just about double what it was in the early '70s.
