Last week I had 3 hens crossing the gasoline. There was probably 12 to 15 poults with them . I was surprised as to where they were located for so early in the morning. There is no good roost trees near by . Poults were about as big as a chucker. Feathered out pretty good .

Neighbor's are squashed out as well as family. 2 baskets to the church food bank . Had fresh tomatoes on salad the other night .

Wishing my tomatoes would ripen up . Would love if I could get my sauce and crushed tomatoes canned up.

Great... Now identified they want to protect them and allow them to multiply . Until their cats get eaten. Then it will be a problem .

I do gang sets all the time for mice . Something wondered off with the one Victor rat trap i didn't stake down . I will probably find it when I remove the shed next year .

Tonights haul... had to stake up pepper plants as peppers are pulling my plants over

I'll take a half an inch of rain all day long . We are in a drought. Cooler temps will help . We might have an inch of rain for the whole month so far . We have been short since April.

Thank God for the rain yesterday and overnight. Garden took such a hit with the heat i noticed a little contraction in my plants . Leaves shrank back and wilted . Plants were not as full looking. I have watered almost every night for a month and the temps hitting 97 and 96 this weekend really kicked the gardens arse.

As much as I think it would be cool to spend a day fishing with the Fonz... I don't think it would end well if he started spewing his liberal crap . I did see a story on 5jat fishing trip . Fly fisherman ... he can't be all bad .

Use to love fishing braille. After a few hours it gets a little tedious. Never got a 23 incher... congrats on a nice fish. Think I still have a box of mice downstairs. Wheres the pics ?

I'm down in chemung county 8 w . Rain off and on for an hour we are pushing 1/2 an inch now and more coming ... I hope. Just announced another storm warning for Dansville area.

Finally got some rain . Thunder storms blew through . 60 mph winds tossed potted plants and table off the deck. Hanging basket off the shepherds hooks about 5 feet away . But we got better than a quarter inch of rain .

Thought about that my self a while back . Watching a guy fill 2 gallons into a gas can then stopping and switching to e 85 to fill his car . I get non ethanol gas from a dedicated pump. I still ad stabul .I pay more as its a small private garage but I know what I'm getting... as long as he is honest. I hope.

Todays haul less the 4 zukes and 4 summer squash i gave the neighbors. Got 2 early girl tomatoes a little smaller than the a baseball that are mostly ripe . Left on the porch to finish.

Processed garlic this morning. A week early as I noticed some brown on the stems creeping towards the bulbs . Hung in the garage with windows and doors open for ventilation. Pretty high heat but I think the humidity didn't help . Still a good crop. Have a dozen bulbs that are in the use now pile that I will give away. Rest I will be making a rack for to finish curing in the basement . German garlic for replanting in the small basket. Will sort the bigger basket and pull my 12 biggest for planting

Never understood what they think their opinion has to do with the music . I paid for the music . Shut the f up and play ... keep your opinions at home . They are irrelevant. I would have been pissed if I had paid for a ticket . That said I listened to alot of pink Floyd back in the day . Went to a concert back in the 80s. Dont remember a damn thing . 5 people in a hatchback dodge ... like another great song ... " I was stoned and I missed it ". But I got a really cool t shirt .

I'm picking every second or third day . 6 to 8 zukes and 10 to 12 summers . I have 3 each zuke and summer squash plants . Im up to a dozen cukes. They aren't producing like they should . Im watering each and every plant with a wand daily . Garden is heavily mulched with straw . They stress in this heat but perk up every night . Tons of green tomatoes. Butternut squash have taken over that end of the garden and growing into the yard . . Tons of little bell peppers. Hopefully I can keep things going to the fall harvest.
