We dodged the frost this morning . Still have a ton on the pepper plants. I would Have loved a killing frost on the ragweed. My allergies are killing me .

Recently read an article about this. A wolf advocate wants to protect the wolves by limiting yote hunting opportunities. Guy is supposedly a crack pot wanna be biologist. He has been accused of planting scat to spark investigations in hopes of protecting a possibility of a wolf living in different areas.

That will make alot of jerky ... congrats.

Its been a while since I posted pictures on this thread . Kind of got derailed but .

Wife makes mincemeat out of green tomatoes. It's really good . Unfortunately not alot of people mincemeat pie anymore.

We have already canned sauce and crushed tomatoes. Wife wants to try a new recipe for sauce so she will do some more sauce. Gave my sister a bushel plus 3 weeks ago. My uncles plants blighted so I will give him what he wants . With the sudden influx of rain I lost alot of tomatoes too splitting.. I will slice up the smaller peppers and freeze. The stuffers I will blanch and freeze for stuffed peppers.

Frost warning here tonight . Calling for 39F. We live in a bowl and we tend to get a little cooler . Picked out tomatoes tonight . Leaving alot of green ones to the frost. Picked a bunch of peppers and covered them . All thats left is the peppers,bruslesprouts, and Butternut squash.

BF Goodrich duler revos . 50k tire little pricey at $900 bucks for 4 ,last years price . Probably $1300 now . Best at tire I have run on my trucks. Drive 20 miles one way in early morning un plowed roads. No problems. Got 60k on the set I put on my dodge.

They make garage ready freezers. Dont know what the difference is . Have a chest freezer in the garage for 3 years now no problem . Fridge freezer thaws in the winter. We don't use it except for beverages and ice . And deer quarters in warmer weather.

I have tried to cook them to make the palatable many ways . I prefer jerky. Wife doesn't care for them at all.

See if you can find somebody thats got a forestry mulcher. Most of the stuff is down shouldn't be too awful to knock that all down to ground or a little deeper

My son tried that once. Told him to call his, now x wife, and tell her he would be home when it was dark. He refused so I did it . She was like ok ... what ever. But the kids are getting out of control. Told her to grow up and be a parent she promptly hung up. She was even less happy when I called her out in front of her parents for being rude to me and manipulative control freak. Her dad laughed at her red face and told her he should have spanked her more often when she was a kid .

Nice garden rake buck. I will guess 28 inches minus 6 inches for ground shrinkage. 2 inches for excitement. 20 inches. I really don't know . I'm not as good as some guys at guessing antlers.

Save a few for us landlubbers ....

Things are happening quick in the garden. Yellow squash appear to be done zukes had a little bit of a recovery, have a few blossoms picked a couple for bread. Cucumbers are finally done . Went through 3 cases of canning jars 2 more to go making crushed tomatoes and now we will make sauce. Tomatoes are prime . With over 3/4inch of rain last night the tomatoes will split so I had to pick this morning . Todays haul....

Way to warm . Not open here in 8y anyhow. I dont want to hunt unless I can see my breath.

A close friend has a ffl . Has been waiting over a year to get his papers from ny . He was notified that all his paperwork will be void and shredded. He will have to reaply sending his non refunded fees again . The stipulations added to his gun shop permits now exceed what he could make back for years to come . The shop is in his basement. They have mandated 24 hour surveillance cameras...must be stored on a secured server for multiple years . All ammo purchases must be documented and stored for years. And the kicker... all windows and entrants into the building must be barred . His wife said hell no. He is dropping his ffl and not reapplying for the state permits. Oh they now refer to gun shops as high risk. Mandated 2 million dollar insurance policy. WTF.

Just goes to show what a chit show this state has become, all because they have no common sense. Have to wonder if they will offer bail for a whipped cream offense.
