prep going?...Are all your stands checked and secure?...are the trails in and out clear and limb free? all the shooting lanes open...Don't for get those branches that could hang to low if we get and early wet snow..remember last year?...Have your extra..pins...arrows...knock strings...allen wrenches...quick fletch and bow wax stocked and ready? the spare release and flash lights the pull ropes and harness with in reach? ..The hunting boots oiled...clothes clean and packed? Body soap and spray stocked?

How about that snack supply...granola bars...hard candies to help with that inevitable cough attack...drink bottle clean and ready to fill?...Well if so go out and enjoy the practice until Oct 1 and good luck.....

Growalot, how many more days until you climb into your stand to await the Oct 1 opener?? Can't be more than a day or two?

I may be getting a PM like Pygmy in the other thread after this reply. By the way, where is Pygmy today?? Hope he hasn't been used as fertilizer under one of Growalot's food plots. LOL

No because I cannot draw any of my bows,Bad back and pulled tendon.But getting the area ready though.All of the small food plots growing good,Ladder stand is secure.,pop up blind is still there.Been doing a little bit of clearing every day.And the trail cameras are out.

Yep your right I did...and it was a pm of simple facts and a statement that if what I said and did being pro active and giving ppl some thing to think about..well then I will gladly own having a boulder on my shoulder...reason it was a pm was that it was addressed just to his comment...But I see you may have been curious about it bringing it up and all..so there you go the short version

I'll admitt Steve...it actually gladdens my heart to see how I tweek you.... without ever having to address you personally...How much time do you spend thinking up little digs for me?...It's the end of the day and I could use a smile....

The only dig is that some of you honestly need to get a life. Has to be more to life than preparing for hunting season all year around.

Ohhh...there's that ole ASS U ME rearing it's little head...you have no clue what my life is...any more than I would assume what your is...well if I actually thought about it...but...hhhmmm...not!!...Now if one would need a life..it would be the one concerned about.......wait for it....mine!...lol

I walked by one of my stands today and looked at it for like 30 seconds while I was pulling a trail cam card. Does that count as prep? Ive been so darn busy with the house stuff and work, I havent had time to do squat. Im going to try and get some lanes trimmed this weekend if I can. Im not even sure Im going to be able to get out much at all for the new opener.

Once through that door ...you'll be surprised how quickly things will settle down and in...well...until the kids fall sports start...lol...sometimes when your at the most pressured and least expect it...Lady luck drops in on you with a great surprise...A good season.. ;)

Starting to loose the fall crops now...even after a good rain several days ago...half the plots are all curled up and rye is laying down again...I over seeded with braccs again and the seed has yet to germinate....hearing the same from a bunch of others....some are trying to clean RR tanks in order to spray water over fields......not me if ma nature wants her own way.... go for it I'm done trying this year.....

I am already dressed in full camo and carry all of my gear with me every where I go, I hung a tree stand in the court yard of my work and take lunch there. I sleep in a blind so the deer are used to my scent from now until opening day. I have a back up of everything I own and could open a sporting goods store with all of the stuff I have just in case. I removed every leaf from every tree below 19 feet including the leaves on the forest floor.

I AM READY!!!!!!!

The reality is I will be ready 5 minutes before the first time I head out, although my broadheads are all set so I am doing good.

Actually that sounds like me...though I did dig out my finger tab and placed it in the fanny pack...too cheap for a back up release......and bought extra therma cell canisters and pads...clothes get washed two days prior....Just having fun practicing....also getting Fall chores and Dr. appts. out of the way...
