Renegade Hunter
Hey guys. I have a nice remington 700 30-06 that I would like to put a scope on that will handle the recoil but won't run me much past 200 bucks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Terry
I have had good luck with the Nikon "prostaff" series.
Groundpatrol
There are plenty of choices. How about a Redfield? Leupold, USA made - supposed to be good. Good luck.
Grouse
I agree with the Redfield Revolution suggestion. I put one on my .308 and think it is worth way more than the $175 I paid for it. With the Lifetime Warranty from Leupold, it's the best value for the money by far IMHO.
mlammerhirt
I have a Redfield Revenge on my Browming BAR .30-.06 and my Dad has a Redfield Revolution on his Browning .270 Both great scopes and great Warranty program.
oneidacountyhunter
I have a simple 2.5x10x50 on mine. Think its either a tasco or simmons (can't remember). I've never had an issues with it. Both are pretty cheap
Elmo
I have the Nikon Prostaff and the Redfield Revolution. You can't go wrong with either of those. My only complaint with the Redfield is that it didn't come with a lens cover and I had the hard time find lens covers for it.
Renegade Hunter
I think I will go with the Redfield Revenge in 3-9x42. Looks pretty nice. Thanks guys
ants
Nikon Pro staff all the way. I have a few of them. Real good scopes. A 3-9 x40 will run you just under $150.00 even less if on sale. Edited November 4, 2012 by ants
WNYBuckHunter
Vortex. 3-9x40 should be fine. Chose the model based on price and features and youll be good to go. Super clear glass, American based company and lifetime, no questions asked warranty that follows the glass, not the owner.
eagle rider
I've been a big Nikon fan,.... That said the New Bushnell Trophy with the DOA reticles are really nice. They are super clear. I just bought one for a Savage Model 14, 243 Win I just ordered. It's a lot of scope for the money. dbHunterNY
I've had good luck with Nikon scopes. i'd get something that goes up to 9 or 12 power. Prostaff line would fit that budget. i've got one on my 30-06 deer rifle right now... ready for Saturday.
