Ford
They better add that in and they better not screw it up this time! I want to use my new rifle on a deer next season. Be carefull for what you wish for.
SteveNY
ADAMS -- Provides for the registration of firearms by the owner thereof at the county clerks office of the county where the owner resides, except in New York City This is a major one, among others. Registration leads to confiscation. Take the lessons of the past and think about this very carefully. GIANARIS -- Establishes a 10 day waiting period for the purchase of any firearm S572 GIANARIS -- Prohibits the purchase of more than 1 firearm during any period of 30 days S573 GIANARIS -- Requires persons possessing any firearm to hold a firearms safety certificate S574 GIANARIS -- Regulates firearms and ammunition dealers S575 GIANARIS -- Provides for universal background checks for the sale of firearms. Don't like these either, as well as a few others, but I need to get ready for work now. As someone else already said, criminals don't follow the law. These proposals will just deter law abiding citizens from purchasing firearms to defend themselves and their families.
Doc
Be carefull for what you wish for. Oh, I know. Being a land owner, I do have mixed feelings about it, but I have finally come to some level of acceptance. So when my wife offered to buy me a rifle, I took advantage of the opportunity. So now, I am ready to rifle hunt for deer. All I need is for our legislative bozos to carry through with what they started about 3 times so far ..... lol. d-bone20917
This is just great; what we need, more laws on the books, for the law abiding citizen. Do any of u, think for 1 minute, criminals think about or follow any laws. Come on people, wake up! The politicians need to get a job. It's time they start digging for the root of the problems, and solving some for a change. Happy New Year? And if some of you think some of these don't have a chance to fly, maybe not now, but they will always be knocking on the door. One more step into socialism. This is really a silly argument don't you think? Criminals are just going to break laws anyway so why should we have them? Why is murder illegal if criminals are just going to do anyway? WNYBuckHunter
Actually, they should decriminalize drugs so as to make room for the murderous bastards like the one from Webster. Hes dead, no room needed.

mike rossi
They better add that in and they better not screw it up this time! I want to use my new rifle on a deer next season. Then you better get on the phone with each member of the assembly and senate and ask them to introduce a bill... I would write the DEC as well... Felonious_Monk
Hes dead, no room needed. plenty more of him out there though ^^ what he said. Plus, if you let out the perpetrators of victimless crimes like possession of arbitrarily unlawful substances, well maybe there would have been room to keep that effin' fruitcake locked away forever like he should have been.
WNYBuckHunter
Or maybe we just need to reinstate the death penalty and use it to get rid of those that should never be a part of society again, instead of blowing $90k a year to house them.

I keep seeing this 90k/annum figure bandied about. Do you know where it comes from? My research shows an average of around 40k/annum to house an inmate in NYS. That's not chump change, but it's a far cry from 90k.
Five Seasons
death is the easy way out. unfortunately criminals reap the benefits of free education, food, exercise and cable tv. I'm more for a slow painful torturing death.

Rikers was at $100k/year in 04 http://www.nytimes.com/2004/01/16/nyregion/rikers-houses-low-level-inmates-at-high-expense.html I doubt the cost has gone down. Even if Rikers is the high end, that $90k as an average isnt far off. I cant remember exactly where that figure came from. Ill try and dig it up. LOL keep on thinkin that if you do . it aint like they can rig a election right Depends what the bill is. Antler Restrictions is a good example. There are many other examples of hunters successfully stopping or advancing bills . It doesnt always take large numbers of hunters either. Nearly every one of these bills was introduced because somebody or some organization suggested it to the sponsoring lawmaker... They did not come to fruit by the lawmaker waking up one day and deciding : "I think I will sponsor a bill for a youth season or a crossbow season or antler restrictions". As far as elections: there are several lawmakers on this list that are sponsoring antagonistic bills. Hunters who vote in their districts should ban together and vote against them in the next election. Doesnt always work because the lawmakers know their constituents - one from St. Lawerence County isnt likely to sponsor antihunting bills because a lot of hunters live and vote in his district. A lawmaker from NYC however probably has the opposite demograph and would conduct bussiness accordingly... In districts where it is grey instead of black and white - a focused vote by hunters can send a lawmaker packing...
wztirem
The problem is that so many who bitch about such proposed legislation DO NOT VOTE!
