Hunting hogs in Western N.Y.

Is there anyone that could tell me where there is a good place to hunt hogs, or take me hunting once since I have never done it before. I have always wanted to. I live in Wayne County.

I am sorry, but I ment the area where they are having hog problems in the Southernteir.

There are some around, but nearly impossible to target successfully. Low numbers and they are not territorial at all.

Those taken are generally a target of opportunity while hunting something else.

I had not heard the hog problem was in the ST, I thought it was much further east. Several buddies with camps down there don't know anything about them in the area.

im in dutchess county never seen a hog around here

hunted CATT county north to south-east to west never even saw sign of hogs. killed five when i lived in Arkansas. sure are good eating.

There is a small pocket of them in java according to dec. Kind of wish they would ban them from nys game farms, if they get out and they do... they are uncontrolable mibile destroyers of habitat.

its hard to tell around here. i seen a hog or pig which was 500 yards away from the nearest farm that i hunt coyotes at . and they dont have any pigs there just cows ... so it was hard to tell if it was a hog or just a pig that got out from somewhere else...

i seen one bye lukens stables this year. i stopped and asked and he said he didnt have any pigs so they are around i never seen it again after that

Yup, they could be in many other places across the state, just people not reporting to DEC or on here that they've seen hogs. Ravena has a lot of woods too, with some good farm areas, so there could be a small herd there.
