blackradio
Yes that is a morel past it's prime. I found about 8 morels a few days ago. All the spots that have been good in years past are empty now. Not sure why.

Not sure if it's past it's prime.. a 1000# mower partially smashed this along with another that was totally pancaked.

crappyice
I just boiled them for three minutes after slicing them thin and threw them in a quick pickle brine. Good texture and decent meaty flavor- looking forward to having them on some crusty bread in a few daysSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

blackradio
My spring wasn't great, but not terrible. Found about 2 lbs or morels. Weird year. Found them in weird spots I don't normally and didn't find them in my usual spots. Dried a bunch of dryads saddle, about 10lbs fresh. Rehydrated and cooked with eggs last week, pleasantly surprised. Good texture. Waiting for the two colored boletes now, they should be up shortly. Anyone else pick these? I've seen a ton of them but never ate. I buddy of mine loves them and convinced me to give them a try this year.
PREDATE
I too have been wanting to try the bi-color boletes.I did better than I ever have with morels, but I only had 1 day to collect them. I'm now eagerly awaiting chantsSent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
