Mushroom hunting

Had a good haul tonight. Again, my wife saw these on the side of the road while walking and we went back later to get them. We found 6 first in another area and then found the rest under this dead (elm?) tree. This was the most we found in one area so far.

I missed them this year...no time during the prime time for this area and paid for it

Seems like it's winding down around here!

My buddy had morel spores sent his way and proceeded to leave them be for a while longer than the instructions called for. I mixed them up anyway with the other suggested ingredients (bizarre mix of sawdust, moss, wood ash, chunks of charcoal wood and ...get this...Sheetrock!).
Found a good spot in some local woods and “planted” the mixture today.
Here’s to hoping!!!!

Found these chanterelles today biggest one I ever saw they are a little mature but i can definitely save some of them

Chantrelles are growing like mad in Central NY. We had a big meal with 3 friends Sunday night and tonight I grabbed about 6 pounds of chantrelles from near our house.  We will have to freeze some....pics later

Yes,I was going to dry them but read that it's not the best treatment for chantrelles.

I found a massive Chicken of the woods and an running a taste test! Sautéed some and froze … washed and vacuum packed the other half raw and froze.
I imagine both will be fine depending upon their use later

Nice chants! Only found cinnabar chants so far, really tasty! Found a bunch of random boletes, still have not kept any, too tough for me to ID. Found about 3 lbs of pearl oysters today. Super fresh.

Did a little road cruising after work today and found oysters black chanterelle golden chanterelle and a beautiful flush of jackolantern not to be eaten of course

Found a ton of black trumpets and red chanterelles today. Most I've ever found. How do you guys like to good the trumpets?

Can anyone I.D. these boletes?

Just butter in a pan lightly sauté yum yum blacks are great with a steak awesome score

Hard to tell just from a picture but looks like could have a purple tint to top so possibly bitter bolete did you take a little bite that’s the only way to tell if it isn’t and doesn’t turn blue when bruised or cut then should be good to eat
