We're going to TSC farms...we have the disc from them...and when I had a weld break on the first use...they came up got the disc and dropped off a new one for free...they have always been very good to deal with...but not sure what make they use now....but we have always been able to wheel and deal with them...took a off a good amount on disc...because of rust on one corner of frame...little wire brush and paint...good to go...lol

The guage wheels are behind the rake and allow te rake to ride and follow the contour of the ground in Float rather than adjusting all the time. Without them as you come out of a dip with your back wheels the tines can come up and dumo what is on the forks. It definitely can be done without them, but it is one of those things that once you use a rake with them you will wonder how you lived without them. Many maunfactures sell and add on kit for their rakes is they are not on them.

Grow. I do not know about your tractor but my JD with the 3 point hitch does not have any Downward pressure it is only Upward pressure and I have found by adding weight to the York rake made it work better then without weight on it.

Good deal...thanks everyone for the tips...I was just looking at the lower fields today....eegads...I wonder how anything grew through all the rocks...I have spent many years "picking" rocks...most of the big ones are out...with exception of new areas....but these sm-med. ones just keep floating to the surface...I think I'll rake before discing and then after discing...I'm running out of places to pile all the rocks..lol

buy a good make and a heavy one ne need for extra weight then same as a good back blade, the land pride tsc use to sell work well but are not really designed for heavy use. wheels do help if you have a don't have a float option or draft adjust control for your 3 pt hitch .
