growalot
your Turkey tail....I hang mine high ...upisde down and fanned out....in the barn has always worked for me...until last year I forgot to close the door and the neighbors dog got it...but other years not a problem...no salting I just let the flies hatch on it and they do the rest...then at the end of summer I gentle wash it...but it has dried in an open fan..they clean it right to the quills... TeeBugg
same way as you described. seems to work great for me. i have salted them before too and that works good too
Elmo
You can get a pot of boiling water. Dip the tips into the water for a few seconds, then take them out and immediately use a paper towel (so you don't burn yourself) and wipe the meat off. Have to do it quick so meat doesn't cool off. I do this to all the fowl I get because my nieces likes to collect the feathers. Edited April 30, 2013 by Elmo
phade
I just trim as much meat off, tack to a board and salt them. I'm not all that fond of traditional fan mounts though. I'm slowly getting the urge to have bird mounted though Edited April 30, 2013 by phade

Geno C
So now I need to post to prove my existence?.. Ya.....nice If the show fits I guess... I was joking by my first comment but I guess you didn't take it that way. I apologize if I offended you. Your comment however about me only on here posting pics from my trail cam is far from the truth. When I'm on here for my lunch breaks everyday at work I do nothing but read or cleanup posts from people cursing or fixing reported threads, posts that members report so at times by the time i do that it's back to work I go. Doesn't leave me much time to make 50 posts a day nor do I care to.

phade
Are you serious? Get up... Why are you always crawling behind grow? You look pathetic man... You jump in every chance you get. Mad? No bro, I'm not mad... Your comparisons are apples and oranges, makes no sence. Look at you getting all fired up. Never met Grow and she'll be the first to attest we can butt heads quite a bit. But, I'm just disproving your statements. You make fun of her posting often when in fact YOU POST MORE based on the fact you have 3-400 MORE posts when you both joined on darn near the same day. If she posts every 3.2 seconds as you say, then you post every 3.1 seconds....get my drift? Sure she starts a ton of threads (a post is a post is a post), but let's not throw stones here....you post just as much, yet say you don't have to post to justify yourself. You are in fact Mr. Kettle on this thread. That's apples to apples, my friend. No need to get mad when painted into a corner and start lobbing "pathetic" comments, etc. Edited May 1, 2013 by phade
