Double on 5/2/13!!!

We got a double on may 2nd at 930!!!!  Killed 2 out of 3 toms called in hunting on public land in schoharie county.  My bird was 19# and the other 17#.  Mine had an 8 in beard and 7/8 in spurs and his had a 9 in beard and 1 " spurs. My bird came in strutting, spitting and drumming to 15 yards before I shot him and my cousin took a second at 30 yards running away! Unbelievable hunt!

After closely looking the bird over from head to toe, I noticed that this turkey had been shot before.  In fact, he still had a pellet in his toe!  So the fact that this turkey was shot before AND called in on public land makes it even sweeter!

You can clearly see the shot still stuck in the birds toe.

Very cool! I had shot a small basket six a few years ago that had a fresh wound from a pass through. Congrats!
